SUMMARY OF RULES
Before the Game
1. Games will not commence until both teams have paid their full game fees ($65 per team).
2. “NO FILL-INS”. Why? Each week we have teams topping up players & breaking the “fair
play” policy more often than not changing the outcome of the game. The old Rule allowed
for one “fill-in” if you only had 4-players & “no fill-in” when you had 5-players. Simply
teams were not listening so I introduced the NO FILL-INS WHATSOVER RULE!!! Note:
“Fill-ins” are classified as existing players from other teams playing in our competition
NOT “new” players that play once off to help you out or join up! If you are struggling to
get a team together on any given week... please call Tony on 0410 444 785.
3. Teams will lose (1) point per minute to the opposition for any late starts. Teams have a
maximum of 15 minutes from the 55-minute mark to start the game thereafter deemed as
a forfeit 3-0 (25-0, 25-0, 25-0)
During the Game
4. Only the Team Captain may approach a Referee and only to clarify a ruling, but NOT to
dispute it in any way. No other player may approach a Referee at any stage. Yellow and
Red cards will be enforced.
5. Teams may substitute players freely during the game however NO substitutions
permitted in the last 5-minutes of the game. (LIBERO system cannot be used in our
competition)
6. There are two TIME-OUTS permitted at 30-seconds each, per team, per set. No TIMEOUTS permitted in the last 5-minutes of game time!
After the Game
7. Team Captains are responsible for checking, confirming & signing scoresheets postmatch. (This avoids any potential disputes about final scores or if players have played
enough games to qualify for the finals).
8. To qualify for the finals a player must play at least 8 games. (BYE’s included)
9. New teams must play 50% of the season to qualify for the finals.
