HELP WANTED:
Vendor Fair/ Technology Fundraiser: We are hoping to have a vendor fair in February to raise money to
pay for a smart board and other tech items at Carrcroft. So far, we have LuLaRoe, Pure Haven Essentials, and
Mary Kay participating. If you are interested in being a vendor and/or interested in helping to plan and
organize this event, please email us at [email protected].
Scholastic Book Fair January 30 – February 2, 2017: We need volunteers to help during the day for our
Scholastic Book Fair, Monday – Thursday, 9am- 3pm. You can sign up on Sign-Up Genius or email us and let us
know you are interested. (go to Sign Up Genius and simply search for our email address,
[email protected]).
Photographers: We are in desperate need of photographers. We need photos from events, such as Citizen
of the Month assemblies, VIP Breakfast, and other events for the yearbook and for Facebook. If you can help
at any of the events, please email us at [email protected]. Thank you.
PTA Board Positions: We have a position for Vice President, Secretary, Swap Shop Co-Chair, and to shadow
the President next year, to take over in 2018-2019. We invite you to consider shadowing any of these positions,
it makes the transition much easier and allows for a year to learn the job & alleviates much stress and time

Hip Hop Fundamentals: Peace, Love, Unity & Having Fun
The students, staff, and teachers enjoyed the assembly on November 17. The PTA hosted Hip Hop
Fundamentals for a school wide assembly to celebrate the end of the first marking period. The PTA
has applied for a grant from Delaware State PTA to help offset the cost of this program because it
exemplifies many of the PTA’s goals and standards, including but not limited to, Arts in
Education. Decision on the grant will be made in January 2017.
Stockings for Soldiers
Carrcroft PTA delivered donations to Stockings for Soldiers on Tuesday, November 22. It
is a nonprofit agency founded to help improve morale and welfare of our armed forces. We also
raised close to $400 dollars for them at the Together BSD Can Make a Difference 5k on Saturday,
October 22! Thank you to everyone that helped make this possible and to all who graciously
donated goods!
Grotto Pizza Carrcroft School Fundraiser
We had 53 Carrcroft families take part in this fundraiser and it was a huge success. The kids and
families had fun and it was a blast seeing so many teachers and students in the restaurant together!
Thank you to all that came out.
Very Important Person Day Breakfast
Wow! What a turn out. We apologize for the long line and wait - it was our first time doing this sort
of thing and we now have a plan in place for the next time. We will likely break up the breakfast by
grades and offer either 2 or 3 breakfasts. Also, we will work with the cafeteria staff to present hot
and healthier options with two lines for service. This will not only improve offerings and service,
but it will also make parking much easier. However, despite the lines and wait, it was an incredible
event with over 300 families present. The kids had a blast! Thank you to everyone that came out and
thank you to the wonderful parents that took so much time, and came in painfully early, to help set
up and serve!
American Karate Studio & the PTA
PTA has completed our fundraiser with American Karate Studio (AKS) in the month
of the November. We do not have results at this time, but we are grateful for AKS to
offer such discounted prices for our students!
Please continue to send us your Box Tops for Education! So far, we have earned almost $300 from
Box Tops, so please keep clipping. This money will be used to help us pay for
assemblies and family fun events. Thank you!
PTA Meeting Follow Up
We had our second general membership meeting on November 16 th. Thank you to everyone who
attended the meeting. And a very special thank you to our beloved Ms. Sipress for coming to speak
to us about Accelerated Reading (AR). We presented and approved our annual budget and our
