PROSPECTUS
INTRODUCTION
MCT College of Legal Studies is a Self-Financing College Affiliated to the University of
Calicut and managed by the Muslim Cultural Trust, Malappuram.Muslim Cultural Trust (MCT)
was founded in the year 1991 with the objectives of offering much needed good education
facilities to cater to the needs of the youth belonging to the Educationally & Socially
Backward Classes of the District. The College was established in the year 2015. The College
aims to be a premier academic institution in providing quality and affordable legal education.
At present the course offered by the College are Five Year integrated BBA-LL.B (Hons), and
Three Year LL.B.
COURSESOFFERED
 BBA, LL.B (Hons.)5 years Course (Integrated Degree): The duration of the program shall be
five academic years comprising of ten semesters.
 LL.B 3 years Degree Course:The Duration of the program shall be three academic years
comprising of six semesters.

 BBA, LL.B (Hons.)5 years Course (Integrated Degree):
a) An applicant who has successfully completed any higher Secondary Examination of the
Govt. of Kerala or any other examination Recognised by the University
b) Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 45 % of
total marks in case of general category applicants and 40 % of total marks in case of SC
and ST applicants.
c) Applicants should have 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.
 LL.B 3 years Degree Course:
a) An applicant who has passed the Bachelor’s DegreeExamination.
b) Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 45 % of
total marks in case of general category applicants and 40 % of total marks in case of SC
and ST applicants.
c) There is no upper or lower age limit for admission to the three year LL.B course.
HOW TO APPLY
Eligible candidates are required to submit the prescribed application duly filed in with the
following enclosures along with the Registration fee of Rs. 750/- (by cash or DD) payable at
Malappuram on or before 30.06.2015, to The Principal, MCT College of Legal Studies, Malappuram676 517.
FOR FIRST SEMESTER (BBA, LL.B (Hons.))
1. Self-attested copy of all mark lists of the Higher Secondary Examination.
2. Self-attested copy of passing certificate where applicable.
3. Self-attested copy of SSLC for proof for Date of Birth.
4. Two recent passport size photos.
FOR FIRST SEMESTER (LL.B 3 YEARS)
1. Certified copies of statement of marks of Qualifying Degree.
2. Certified copy of Degree Certificate /Provisional Certificate.
3. Two recent passport size photos.
ADMISSION
If the candidate is selected for admission, he will be informed by post. He/She is required to
produce the following certificate in original at the time of admission.
1. Passing Certificate/Degree Certificate.
2. Transfer certificate issued from the Institution last studied.
3. Conduct and Character Certificate from the Institution last studied.
4. Migration Certificate: Graduates from universities other than University of Calicut are
required to attach original Migration Certificate.
5. Eligibility/Equivalency Certificate.
The admissions to the 50% Govt. quota will be as per Govt. /University norms and
Management quotas per Management norms.

TUITION FEE
BBA-LL. B(Hons). and LL.B. Programmes
(Fixed by the Government of Kerala vide GO (Ms) No. 630/2013/H.edn. Dt. Thiruvananthapuram
28.09.2013)
This fees structure will be subject to the modifications made by the Government of Kerala
and University of Calicut from time to time.
Students making default in payment of fee shall be removed from the rolls of the College.
DRESS CODE
a) All students should strictly follow the dress code framed by the college authorities specifically
mentioned below.
Boys
Black formal pant
White full sleeve shirt tucked in (Inserted).
Black formal shoe with black socks.
College Identity card.
Girls
Churidar – white top with 3/4th sleeve and black loose bottom.
Black waist coat (will be issued from the college on payment)
Black open shoe with black socks.
College Identity cards.
b) Students should wear the uniform in a neat and professional way.
c) Students not adhering to dress code will not be permitted to attend the classes.
d) Students will not be entertained in the college premises for any requirement if they are not in
their uniform.

GENERAL DISCIPLINE
A. As discipline is highly essential for the smooth working of the college, each and every student
shall maintain it at any cost.

B. Students shall always behave, with dignity and courtesy.
C. Absolute obedience is expected from every student. If anyone tries to defy the authority of
the principal or any teacher he/she will be punished.
D. Notices/orders/circulars exhibited on the College notice board shall be deemed to have been
informed to each student of the College.
E. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the college campus as per Cir.No.35362/08/H&FWD. dated
22/09/08.
F. Political activities are strictly banned in the college campus. No student of this college shall
get himself/herself involved in any political activities or abet the said activity to be carried on
by the fellow or other student inside the campus n any manner what so ever.
G. Students, who have no class to attend at any particular hour, should remain in the reading
room.
H. No celebration be arranged in the campus without the written permission of the Principal.
INTERNSHIP
The students of 3yr LL.B and 5Year B.B.A., LL.B Course have to undergo an internship
programme as per Bar Council of India Rules on Legal Education 2008.
Each student should complete a minimum of 12 weeks/20 weeks internship .i.e., 4
weeks per year. The internship shall preferably be done under NGOs, Trial and Appellate
court, judiciary, Legal Regulatory Authorities etc.
PTA
Every student who seeks admissions shall remit the prescribed contribution towards the P.T.A
fund. Every parent/guardian will automatically become a member of P.T.A.
LIBRARY AND READING ROOM
The library and reading room shall be kept open from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m on all working
days and from 10.00 a.m to 2.00 p.m on Saturday. No issue and return on Saturdays.
1. Students shall maintain absolute silence in the Library.
2. LL.B student is permitted to take only 2 books at a time from the library.
3. Books taken out by the students shall not be retained for more than a period of two weeks
from the date of issue. If the date falls on a holiday, the book must be returned on the next
working day.
4. Books taken out before the commencement of a vacation other than summer vacation must
be returned not later than the third working day of the re-opening of the college. If the books
are not returned within the third day, fine will be levied from the actual date of return.
Failure to return a book on the due date entails the student to pay fine of Rs 1/- per day for
each book.
5. Generally books will not be renewed; but if there is no demand on a book it may be re-issued
after return.

6. Any book may be recalled at any time even if the period of loan has not expired.
7. Staff members and students shall affix their signature in the issue registers when they take
out book.
8. Books will be issued from 10.00 am to 03.45 pm. Only on allworking days. (Monday to Friday)
9. Hand bags, books, files and personal belongings should be kept outside the library.
10. Library will remain closed for a short interval from 2.00 p.m to 2.30 p.m (Monday to Friday)
