On the 31st of May the football team went to play at the Clickimin.
We were all very excited about this and we were very confident we
would do well. The football team was Liam stove, Callum Isbister,
Daniel Sinclair, Tom Sandison, Jack Fitzsimmons, Dan Forsyth, Tom
Chivers, Dean Williamson, William Johnson and Ryan Johnston.
Callum Isbister and Tom Chivers were captains. Our first game was
against Lunafirth. We won the game 5-0. We were very happy that
we had won our first game and it gave us a confidence boost. Our
next game was against Mid Yell it was a tough game but we managed
to beat them 3-0. The next game was Dunrossness and we knew it
was going to be a tough game. We went 2-0 up but then
Dunrossness fought back so we drew 2-2. The next game was going
to be the toughest game of the group against Tingwall. We discussed
tactics before the game. The game ended up being an exciting game
but it ended goalless. That was the last game and we had made it 2nd
with Tingwall 1st in the group with west yell 3rd so we all went up to
the cup and Dunrossness and Lunafirth going into the plate. We had
to play our quarter final straight away against Whalsay. It was going
to be a very tough game. We went 1-0 up straight away. But Whalsay
equalised to make it 1-1. The game went to penalties and we lost
them 3-1. It was a cruel way to be knocked out and Whalsay went on
to come 2nd with Sound school coming 1st overall. We all had a very
good day and were very proud of how well we did.
