Every coach knows you can’t win a game without a plan and they quickly discovered there was no playbook for this disease. After Barbara passed, Coach Broyles wanted to share what his family learned and the Broyles Foundation was formed. Since then, Coach Broyles and the staff of the Broyles Foundation have served caregivers in crisis through five main areas: resource distribution, training and education, counseling, support groups and advocacy. • • • • Our heart is to educate, support, and connect with caregivers. Our goal is to give all family members a better quality of life. Our passion is to empower families. We are committed to providing support and resources for both professional and family caregivers Our mission goes well beyond our primary goals of coaching and supporting families touched by Alzheimer’s Disease. “Playbook for Alzheimer’s Caregivers” When our work began in 2006, our approach was simple -- we wanted to create a comprehensive and affordable guide for Alzheimer’s caregivers. With the help of professionals from many different backgrounds, we created “The Coach Broyles Playbook For Alzheimer’s Caregivers.” With over 1 million copies distributed in 11 different languages, the Playbook helps caregivers understand the disease and how to provide better care for their loved one. Broyles Academy A state-certified training school combining a comprehensive curriculum for caregivers with an increased emphasis on all forms of dementia. Broyles Academy sets itself apart by raising the standard to a Coach Broyles championship level, understanding that caring for someone is a badge of honor and the greatest gift you can give to someone. Caregiver Coaching & Support Groups Betsy Broyles Arnold and Molly Arnold Gay facilitate our coaching sessions and caregiver support groups based on their multi-generational family approach and life experiences. During our sessions, caregivers and family members realize they are not alone and they learn from one another. Resource Center Whether over the phone or in person, we are the first place family members and caregivers turn to be connected to the best resources in their community and nationwide; including memory care, legal aid, transportation, and more.
