EC Announcements April 22nd, 2013. EARTH DAY!!!!!
The next Environmental Caucus meeting is: Wednesday, May 1st. 12:30pm, ARD.
Announcements
1) Internship opportunity with American Rivers in CaliforniaThis is an opportunity coming out of the American Rivers office in Nevada City. It's
unfortunately unpaid, but if someone was interested in gaining experience in
nonprofit organizational development, grant writing, fundraising, etc., I can honestly
say that the people you'd be working with here are some of the best in the field. It's
actually a little silly how much money comes through this office because of their
work. On top of that, it's a great organization to work for, and the people in this
office are fantastic. If anyone is curious about the position, living in Nevada City, or
anything related, I'm happy to field those questions or facilitate other conversations.

Dii'go To Baahaane: Four Stories about Water" is a documentary that portrays a four

contaminated by uranium mining. The film is mostly in the Navajo language with
English subtitles, and reveals the incredible stories of people who are struggling as
well as the people who are trying to help. It was developed by the Multicultural
Alliance for a Safe Environment, a coalition that represents "communities working
to restore and protect the natural and cultural environment through respectfully
promoting intercultural engagement among communities and institutions for the
benefit of all life and future generations.
A discussion will follow the film conducted by Robert Tohe from the Sierra Club
