Coaching Opportunity District Regional Programme 2016-17 The District Regional Programme (DRP) will be held through the Autumn/Winter of 2016 and we are looking for notes of interest from coaches who would like to be considered for an Assistant Coach position. Yes / No District Regional Programme ASSISTANT COACH ROLE DESCRIPTOR PURPOSE To assist in the delivery of the District Regional Programme at an identified venue, under the direction of the Lead Coach and in conjunction with fellow Assistant Coaches - enhancing the development of attending swimmers and coaches through a number of learning and educational experiences. In addition, it is expected that the Assistant Coach will help to ensure the smooth delivery of the specific elements of the DRP using his/her expertise, motivational and mentoring skills & knowledge to help swimmers and attending coaches identify a path towards the next level of the sport. MAIN FUNCTIONS Attend the three District Regional Programme (DRP) days and the Orientation Day that precedes them. Dates for 2016-17 are as follows: 27th August Orientation Day (Stirling) th 25 September Day 1 (all Districts) Oct/Nov Day 2 (23rd Oct – North District); (13th Nov – East District); (20th Nov – Midland District); (tbc – West District) th 4 December Day 3 (all Districts) Liaise with Lead Coach prior to and following each of the DRP days. Assist the Lead Coach in the delivery of all aspects of the DRP programme. Be prepared to devise and deliver (with the guidance of the Lead Coach) pool, land and other education sessions at the DRP days, independently and in collaboration with other Assistant Coaches. Assist the Lead Coach & Team Manager in ensuring accurate recording of any results, measurements and assessments. Assist the Lead Coach in the identification of swimmers to be nominated for selection to attend Day 3 and also for selection to the Stroke Camps held in May. Provide detailed feedback on the DRP as requested. Requirements All Assistant Coaches must; > > > > be available for ALL three Days and the Orientation Day have a current Enhanced Disclosure Scotland PVG Certificate be a current member of Scottish Swimming hold UKCC Level 1 swimming coaching qualification (or equivalent)
