Registration Policy
Players must be registered and financial by close of registrations in all age groups.
Only online registrations will be accepted via our webpage St Josephs Netball Club and payment in full must be
made at this time. The fee includes a $50 non-refundable registration fee.
Failure to Register on time will result in that player not being included in the first round of trials and this may affect
their position in a team/grade.
All players are expected to attend trials, players unable to attend trials are to contact the club secretary
[email protected] prior to the commencement of trials to explain their nonattendance.
The President and Secretary will meet during the first week of February to place registered players only into teams
for trials based on their previous experience and position preferences.
Trials Policy
There will be trials held during the month of February for age groups Under 11 and above.
This will ensure that all girls have the opportunity to be seen by selectors. Selectors for trials will be our senior
umpiring staff and or neutral selectors.
All players will have sufficient/even court time in their preferred positions to best show their skill sets and strengths
to the selectors.
All players will be placed in age appropriate grade first. If necessary to fill a team, a player may be offered a position
in a higher level, this will be in consultation with the family.
At no time during the trials are parents or coaches to approach the selectors.
Players will be placed in teams based on their previous experience and playing ability. Selectors may request to see
more of a player than another at trials, this may happen when they are trying to put teams together and trying
different combinations of girls to ensure all teams are evenly balanced.
Placement of players in a teams will be final and families will be notified via email.
Committee members are not to be contacted regarding the team selections. Requests for girls to play together are
welcomed, however there will be no guarantees.
Under 8 and Under 9
"Come and Try" will be run by your club umpires.
Players will be grouped based on their skills and teams will be determined from this.
Under 11, Under 13, Under 15,Under 17
Trials will be held during the month of February at Sacred Heart College Courts, Somerton Park
Hot Weather
Trials will not be cancelled or date moved.
If the weather is forecasted to be above 35c, trials will be varied to suit.
Drink breaks will be encouraged.
Shorter court time may be required.
St Joseph’s committee will always have the best interest of players at heart.
Regrading Policy
When regrading of teams occurs by Saucna, St Joseph's may also apply changes to teams if it is deemed necessary.
If changes are to be considered, coaches will consult with the secretary, and the player & family will be notified.
Changes to teams can only be made if there is a player of whom they can swap.
Once regrading by Saucna has been finalised, teams affected will be notified.
Under no circumstances are coaches, parents etc to contact Saucna in regards to team placement, before or after
the regrading process.
St Josephs provide a clear avenue whereby families can contact the committee via the secretary
[email protected] to discuss any concerns or issues they may have.
Always show respect to your team/opposition players/umpires /coach/ spectators.
St Josephs committee are all volunteers, so please be mindful of this when addressing them.
