Official Rules
Cree Writing Contest
All written submissions must be completed and sent to Aanischaaukamikw no later than March
31st of 2013. Any submission received after this date will not be considered for publication. We
will only accept submissions written in Cree.
To participate, a release form must be filled out and submitted with your work. All written
submission without an accompanying release form will not be considered.
Participant categories: Secondary 1 – 3 (250 words minimum)
Secondary 4 – 5 (500 words minimum)
Adult (500 words minimum)
Participation prize: A copy of the new Cree School Board dictionary of your choice (softcover)
Judging will be based on: Content, Originality, Creativity, Vocabulary, and Writing Style. All
judging will be completed immediately after the closing of the writing contest.
Winners will be announced after the judging has been completed.
Illustrations are not mandatory, however submitting illustrations would be considered a welcome
addition to all entries.
