Sports News
Year 6 played in a Kwik Cricket tournament at Hanley Castle High School and came first in this
event – congratulations.
Years 3 & 4 took part in a Tri Golf tournament on Friday and were awarded 2 nd place – well done.
Congratulations to Lewis Owen who has been selected to play District Cricket – well done Lewis!
Green Gym
School Council have asked for the Green Gym to be installed during half term in order that the
Year 6 children can benefit from this. This will be joint funded by PTFA and a Lottery Grant
following a successful bid by School.
Sports Day – Monday 23rd May
Sports Day will be held this year on Monday 23rd May 5.00-6.00pm. Reminder – House Team
colour t-shirts to be worn (Livingstone – Yellow, Armstrong – Red, Wellington – Green,
Nightingale – Blue).
Arts Week 25th, 26th, 27th May
As last year we will be using Arts Week to create scenery and props for our summer production
“Shakespeare Rocks”. We would welcome help from parents, grandparents, friends etc. Please
return the slip below to indicate which session(s) you are able to help with – thank you.
Fruit at Break
Children in YR, Y1, Y2 are provided with fruit for morning break. If your child is in Y3-Y6 and
wishes to have fruit they can take it from their lunchbox to eat at break time.
Children may also have fruit at afternoon break if they so wish.
Parent View Questionnaire
Thank you for the responses to the Annual Parent Questionnaire. Please remember to have your
say, it really does take minutes – just google “ parent view” and follow the links. I am hoping for
50 responses, so if you’ve not had your say yet, now’s your chance! The deadline has been
extended for a week to next Friday.
As this is now online there is no facility to pass a comment to the Headteacher, as was the case
when we used paper returns. If you would like to pass a comment to accompany your view of the
school please use the box overleaf and return it to school, sealed if appropriate - they may be
positive comments, suggestions or constructive criticisms. Please be aware that any positive
comments may be used, anonymously, in school publicity, and we do like receiving them!
Suggestions and constructive criticisms will be treated in confidence and should be addressed to
the Headteacher – please provide your name so issues can be tackled in person where necessary.
Thank you for your continued support.
