Candidates must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or better on 6wks of all reporting periods All dancers must audition every year • Re-selection is not guaranteed No scores, judges, or teacher recc sheets will be distributed. Per BV district guidelines all teacher recommendation forms will be destroyed immediately following determination of the team and prior to the announcement of the team. • Final placement decision will be up to the coaching staff and decisions may not be disputed. 10 SELECTING THE TEAM • Breaks in the scoring ▪ See sample next slide • Coach(es) and admin will determine size of team ▪ See sample • Returning Tigerettes: should you happen to not make the team, you will have the option on how you would like to be contacted (phone, email, no contact) before the results are posted • Results will be posted to our website by 5PM on Friday, May 5th • be cautious of where you are, and who you are with when posted •Possible JV and Varsity team -depending on audition results (numbers, scores, etc will determine if we have a JV and Varsity team). -Coaches discretion 11 AUDITIONS-SAMPLE RESULTS ***Total Audition Score=After Teacher Recs & Audition Results have been calculated -First break=after #17 -want more than 4 members -break=after #3 -15 total members --#10, 19, 8, 11, 20=didn’t make team Other Specifics (who will perform what) will be determined after selection has been made and Tigerettes Handbook has been distributed. Ex: FB games, Grades, Attendance, etc. 12 EXPECTATIONS • Members enroll in 1st hour for the entire academic year. Treat like normal class. • Members dress out daily and come prepared • Practice/homework, on time for class, correct shoes and attire, etc. • Once team is selected we will discuss absences (excused vs unexcused, tardies, etc) • Members communicate with coach(es) and ahead of time! • 1st semester •Pass/fail credit: to earn cred, members must have a C or above • • 2nd semester • Members receive a grade (A, B, C, D, F) • Each week is worth 30 points • Events are worth 30 points • Extra credit may be offered Specifics will follow at post audition meeting after Tigerettes are selected. 13 EXPECTATIONS CONT. • Members are allowed 3 excused absences per semester • Discussion of absences will take place at the meeting after team is selected • Demerits • Given by coach(es) for the same reason as losing daily points • Missing items, wearing jewelry, not following school dress code, not prepared, hair isn’t pulled back, etc. • 7 demerits=benched for specified performance • 15 demerits=dismissal from team • More information after audition is selected •ALL MEMBERS: At any time, the coach may remove you from performance if it’s not to the standards of the team • Know material=you can perform. Don’t know material=not performing 14 FINANCES • See hand out! • Fees go towards • Camp, uniforms and uniform use, shorts, hair pieces/bows, camp attire, bag, jacket, some choreography, some competition fees, etc. • Discuss with coach if there are any concerns.
