PURPOSE OF JOB
To manage the activities and program objectives of BADGER type programs in support of achieving the
business objectives of DLS.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Program Management of BADGER contract as a profitable business within the business unit including:

Contribution (% and R)

Schedule

Technical Performance

Cash flow

Penalties

Negotiate agreements and prices with level 5 suppliers
Management of HOEFYSTER Programme department including:

Career path planning

Line Management of department

Performance reviewing of personnel

Salary adjustments to ensure market related remuneration

Skills improvement of personnel

Support to management (personnel, infrastructure, procedures, etc.)
Integration of BADGER Programme including:

Concurrent development of new product systems

Industrialisation of multiple projects

Liasing with all external (to business unit) stakeholders (ARMSCOR, SANDF, Marketing, Production)

Integrate financial inputs for proposals

Manage integrated resource planning for systems development work
Strategic Management:

Provide leadership to achieve BADGER’s strategy for the local market

Actively participate as part of the department to develop and implement DLS strategy and business plan.

Lead the company project team in all client interactions

Negotiate and manage program strategic alliances / agreements
Marketing:

Marketing Support to Business Development for local business
General:

Single point of accountability for programme delivery

Identify impediments to programme performance and implement corrective actions

All decisions have benefit of the company

Ensure compliance to all contractual and legal requirements
CRITICAL SKILLS
Programme/Project Management experience 5 to 10 years
Engineering Development experience 5 to 8 years
Contract negotiation.
Contract Management (incl. legal and financial aspects)
Management Accounting
Strategic Business Leadership
System Engineering process and product development process knowledge
Good communication and negotiating skills
JOB REQUIREMENTS

B. Eng or suitable qualification/experience
MBA or equivalent will be an added advantage
Programme/Project Management training
