FUN activities for young people aged 13-19. Whether you love to dance, enjoy sports or just want

Volunteering and Placement opportunities
Why not come and join our fantastic team and be part of something great! If you are aged
14 or over and what to gain experience and skills in working with young people then we
would love to hear from you! Perhaps you are great at communicating with young people,
have a hidden talent you would like to share or would just love to ‘give something back’ in
your local community we could help you reach your full potential. With access to support
and training opportunities (where available) as well as recognition for completed hours

To help things run smoothly please note:
• Some activities may be cancelled at short notice due to the weather or
unforeseen circumstances.
• Parents of all participants under the age of 13 will need to complete a registration
form prior to their child taking part in activities.
• Children aged 5 & under will need to be signed in / out of schemes by an adult
over the age of 18, or supervised by a parent if on an outdoor scheme.
• Some schemes get very busy - we operate a first come, first served policy and
issue priority tickets for the next session.
• For children & young people with disabilities please ring 01204 338190 to discuss
accessing suitable activities.
• All staff and volunteers in Bolton Council’s Youth & Play Service have enhanced
Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) / Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks through
Bolton Council.
Bolton Charity Urban Outreach is working with
volunteers and local businesses to make packed lunches during
the summer holidays for children who receive free school meals
during term time. The project is called Bolton Lunches
and is part of the charity’s Friends of Fun Food programme.
Children’s Centres and other community venues will
provide collection points for the lunches.
To collect your packed lunch just go to your nearest
collection point on Monday - Friday between 11am and 12 Noon,
give your child’s name, postcode and age and your child will be
given a free packed lunch. The lunches are freshly made each
day and include a ham, cheese, chicken or tuna roll, a cereal or fruit bar,
mini cheese biscuits, a piece of fruit and a drink.
Bolton Lunches will operate from 25th July - 2nd September
(excluding Bank Holiday 29th August)

Bigger and better than before!
The Sport and Active Living Service (Sport in
Bolton) will be taking over Victoria Square for the
biggest sporting festival of the year. They’ll have
a variety of sports on the square again including
running track, boxing, cricket, handball, football,
tennis, archery, cycling, martial arts, gymnastics,
basketball, wrestling, smoothie bikes and many
more.
The best part is it’s all FREE!
