Zachary celebrates Read Across America
The third grade students at Zachary Elementary celebrated their class read aloud, Because of
Winn-Dixie, on March 2nd. The students participated in literacy themed activities throughout the
day which included acting out their favorite scenes, creating hallway display, and some classes
even had a book-themed party like the characters in the book. It was a wonderful celebration of
literature that all of the students and teachers will remember!
Copper Mill Beta students traveled to Zachary Early Learning Center to read to the Pre-K
students. Everyone enjoyed story time!
Northwestern Middle School students displayed their favorite books in the hallway and wore
silly hats in honor of Dr. Seuss.

final five ducklings.
Art is alive all over RPES!
Students in Mrs. Goebel’s homeroom learned
that music can be used to teach math concepts

Each pitch represented a different number. After
composing their melodies, the students wrote
repeated addition and multiplication
sentences.
