1. Geana Javier
o 19, Freshman in Honors, Economics major with statistics minor. This
semester became apart of executive council
 Sen. Brown El: After going through Coug-Day at the Capital what made you want
to move up?
o Important to have a voice in the government.
 Sen. George: Did you look through the bylaws

o Yes
Sen. Jeffson: What sets you apart?
o Read thought the by laws, put my all into it.
Sen. Dozier: Plans for this semester to improve campus as a senator
o Help with policies for minorities, helping with the textbook laws, along
with finances.
Sen. Kalt: Ideas for out reach to all the students?
o Social media outreach is huge.
Sen. Dozier: Any previous experiences?
o High school Treasurer, and President of key club.
2. Girish Chummun
o Born and raised near island next to Madagascar, passionate about finance.
Associate degree at Edmonds Community College. Involved with student
government. Executive officer of finance. Great opportunity to explore
leadership skills. After moving on from AA, appointed by Jay Ensley to be
seconded student trustee in the state. Amazing experience in decisionmaking. Honor of meeting many congressmen. During the term great
leadership experience. Great decisions on student decisions. With positive
change all about student change. Main voice of our future. Wanting to
create association of student trustees. Why I applied to this position, it’s a
big project, interested and passionate.
 Sen. McMahon: What sets you above others?
o Experience, met several important people. People appreciate how I am. I
always look for student needs.
 Sen. Dozier: Do you have any new ideas if appointed as all-campus rep?
o Various, one idea is improving legislation, textbook costs. Bring diversity.
Building community relationship. Great experience with foreign
education. Changes to the system, sometimes student voice isn’t always
heard.
 Sen. George: Have you read through our by-laws?
o Skimmed over them.
 Sen. Kalt: You represent the whole campus, what are your ideas to bring together
the community?
o Community building, planning and analyzing student involvement.
Bringing together different groups.
 Sen. Kalt: Application says something about a digital kiosk, elaborate.
o Realized there is an app for that. Provides a map. At the time I came here I
missed orientation and missed resources that would be helpful to me.
Great idea to have digital kiosk to display the information you need.
3. Jenna Damberg
o Sophomore business management and operations. Experience with
ASWSU, year on Executive council.
 Sen. McMahon: What sets you apart
o Year background with ASWSU. Worked at pool, learned management
skills. Ability to adjust.

Sen. Dozier: New ideas of what to accomplish this year?
o Something big is the textbook bill, affects everyone. A lot more options
and avenues, online is a great option.
Sen. George: Have you read over our by-laws?
o Yes
Sen. Kalt: As All-campus representative, ideas for out reach to all the students?
o Freshman biggest voices that need to be heard, that would be a great start.
Sen. McMahon: Move to approve to go into exec session for 20 minutes. Seconded, approved.

B. Funding Request- CRU
 Robbie Cowgill, involved in CRU. Event on March 2nd. For the Veritas Forum nonprofit forum on campuses. Mission statement expose student and faculty to
expose them to questions. at WSU for 5-6 years. Title “Why are we Here” an
Atheist philosopher and Christian Chemist. Bringing in Troy Van Voorhis will be
presenting and discussing with Michael Goldsby. Discussing bigger topis
involving God, and nature of existence. Philosophy professor will be moderating
the forum. Student MC that introduces the night, opening of each presenter, time
to discuss, ending comments, and time for audience interaction and Q&A. Why
excited, students will be exposed to high-level thinkers. And hear different
perspectives. Students all across the board question their faith and existence. Live
in a pluralistic world, often discussions about religion and topics like this are
pretentious. Designed to be honest and engaging for students. Different groups
involved, School of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs, CRU,
InterVarsity/INN. Estimated budget, and total cost is $2400.
 Sen. Simonson: Fundraising
o Word back from RSO, have nothing to give. As a ministry contributing.
Trying to put funds together in one big pot to try and figure out funds.
 Sen. George: What is an Honorarium
o It’s a speaking fee, and separate from U of I.

o Cru is non-profit, and I’m alumni.
o How do you bring forth your people for that time of the event?
o Honors College is behind it. Meeting on Friday to discuss ideas for
attendance increase.
Sen. Kalt: Turned in a week ago, did you hear back from Cougs-for-Cougs RSO.
So you would be paying for it alone if you haven’t
o Yes
o Kalt: You have to register on Orgsync, aware?
o Yes, I have done that.
Sen. Simonson: Attendance in the past?
o About 150.
Sen. Zuniga: Number of people involved in Cru?
o About 80.
Sen. Cherry: Have you thought about making this a programming event?
o What is process?
o Cherry: Go to Panhelenic and IFC
Sen. Brown El: How you plan on marketing? And how do you reach out to RHA
o Flyer has been approved for Resident halls. Some students in Honors
College, so getting the word out that way. Posters in the CUB. Applied for
funding for the Daily Evergreen, haven’t heard back yet.
Sen. Pen: In the past, any video streaming?
o Not hear, but at different places. Good idea to have it recorded and
streaming for students to see if not able to attend.
Sen. Simonson: If ASWSU weren’t able to fund it, how would you fund it?
o In RSO, we have money, that we want to use for other things but we
would have to use that money.
Sen. Cherry: Unique, open up discussion to Senate Floor
Sen. McMahon: Bringing different prospective. Went to different avenues.
Funding it for $2000.
Sen. Zuniga: CRU done a lot of different things fo the campus. A lot of
philosophy students will be interested.
Sen. Cherry: Great thing, even for name alone having a professor fro MIT come.
Sen. Kalt: Cool, educational event with a spin. Think it should go on, as for
funding having Philosophy department
Sen. Price: This is coming out of Grey account. Why not the Crimson?
o Cherry: We wanted to push it to the floor. *Question to Bobby, Familiar
with Crimson Grant?
o No
o Sen. Cherry: It’s a one time funding request, and it allows you to receive
money but you are not allowed to appeal for a funding request of the
Senate for a full year.

C. College of Engineering & Architecture Senator Appointment
1.Victor Charoonsophonsak
o Mechanical engineering, junior. Engineering college doesn’t know a lot
about ASWSU. Want to provide information to those constituents.
Represent Engineering college well here in the Senate. Work with other
student leaders. Bridge the gap between administration and students.
Represent Engineering and Architecture College as a whole. Bring
diversity to the table. Increasing presence of ASWSU in the Engineering
and Architecture college, and bring diversity.
 Sen. McMahon: What sets you above?
o Reputation in the college. Won outstanding Junior award for the
engineering and architecture college. Vast amount of leadership
experience.
 Sen. Dozier: What are your ideas for outreach?
o Networking with presidents and students within the college.
 Sen. George: How would you balance responsibilities
o Involved with many things, but utilizing different resources. On top of
time management.
 Sen. Penchagnula: Considering you are RHA how you balance that time?
o Pretty lenient. Able to adjust my time well.
 Sen. Price: Where will senate fall with your priorities?
o One thing I didn’t mention used to be undergraduate researcher.
 Sen. Pen: a lot of engineering majors don’t really get involved, how would you
get other students to be involved?
o Starts at basic level, starts with RSO and getting more students aware.
2. Alyssa Norris
o Junior civil engineering. Member of Honors College, Member of Society
of Women Engineers. Full ride scholarship Freshman year. Volunteer with
Palouse discovery science center. Love helping people great way to give
back and make an impact. Last summer worked in WA DC rekindled love
for government. Being civil engineer can represent large population in the

college. Connect student outside of the college with students within the
college. Provide better tutoring opportunities.
Sen. George: How would you balance commitments?
o Have time this semester. Learned to manage time
Sen. Kalt: What leadership roll
o Class president in High School. Region representative for State of Alaska.
Sen. McMahon: What sets you apart
o Female, difficult in engineering. Being civil engineer puts me in middle of
the road with students in college.
Sen. Pen: Familiar with College of Engineering & Architecture advisory board?
How would you increase attendance?
o Starting young, and getting the information out there. Going to classes and
talking to those students.
Sen. Kalt: How do you plan to outreach to engineering students?
o Going to classes, and reaching out to them. Talking to people and building
those connections
3. Drake Perez
o Senior mechanical engineering. Interesting in being bridge between
technical and nontechnical. Often times you get the vibe that engineers
here are stand-offish toward other students here. Building communication
between different colleges. Go into the industry and its about
communication, and there is a lack there of. Want to make better
experience.
 Sen. McMahon: What sets you apart?
o President of Wazzu racing. Experience bing team leader. Team leader for
entrepreneurship group.
 Sen. Simonson: What is a formula SAE Race car
o Design from scratch a full racecar. Build and manufacture racecar. And at
the competition race it.
 Sen. Price: Graduating in May, how do you get people to co-mingle in the short
amount of time?
o Want to bring the Harold Frank program into this, and Marie Mayz and
Dr. Davis who are chairs of the program to help get the foot in the door for
the college. Want to set in path
 Sen. Penchagnula: Familiar with College of Engineering and Architecture
Advisory Board?
o Not familiar.
o Sen. Penchagnula: How would you extend to the college information
about the CEAAB?
o Not familiar, but confident I can make those connections.
 Sen. Kalt: Move to go into exec session for 20 Minutes, seconded. Motion

1. Austin Brown
o Did running start, second semester at WSU. Been involved since I’ve been
here. Elected President of Striet- Perham government. Improve views of
WSU as a whole.
 Sen. McMaho: What sets you apart?
o Inititive to get involved. First ever first year student to be accepted as an
orientation councilor.
 Sen. Dozier: Ideas this semester for the Senate?
o For resident halls, expose ASWSU more to the student body. Infomring
community of what your’ve done to improve.
 Sen. Simonson: Read by-laws?
o Yes, skimmed.
 Sen. Pen: Issues you want to fix with the Arts and Sciences college?
o As you know, they were merged, and so informing students of the mission
of the college.
 Sen. Price: Why choose Senate as your next leadership role?
o Love getign involved. Involved with elections in my hometown. Want tot
represent students here at WSU. Wer are the universities congress, and
making our voices heard.
 Sen. Kalt: Plan for out reach?
o Everyday communication. Asking students what they want to see changed.
Bring up what is goig on with the Senate, and spreading informaiton
 Sen. Pen: Have a huge faculty, how would you be able to reach out to them and
and get their message accrose.?
o Email, and talking to individuals. Meeting with individuals that are
willing.
 Sen. Doier: do you plan to run for Senate next year?
o Yes
 Sen. Kalt: Reach out to other Arts and Sciences Senators

2. Cherrise Reyes
o Political Science major. Want to be involed because people person, build
relationship between student body and ASWSu. Beeing n Tribal nation
groups. Meber of conduct board. Work in Womens research center, help
educate community. Educate the community about University issues.
 Sen. McMahom: What sets you apart?
o Age, more experience working with staff and other students. Work with 6
organizations. Help to advise students and help do what I can to educate
students.
 Sen. Zuniga: Involved on campus, so where would ASWSU fall in your priorities.
o I have recently been aware or events that I must attend.
 Sen. Pen:How do you reach out to the large staff?
o I would not email or call, I would go personally and let them know I want
them to be involved.
o Pen: Specifics projects for College of Arts and Science?
o More promotional events, not just tabling, but fun educational events.
