Doubles Tennis Information Sheet
I. Equipment: Players must provide their own tennis balls.
II. The Match: Each match will consist of three sets:
#1 singles, #2 singles, and doubles. The winner of the match is the team that
accumulates the most total games won. If the match is tied, then the winner will be the team
that wins two out of three sets.
III. The Set: Each set will be played until one player wins six (6) games and has at least a
two-game lead. If tied at 6-6, the set will be scored a tie. There will be no tie breaker.
IV. The Game: Ad scoring will be in effect.
V. Super Tie-Breaker (Playoffs only): If the match is tied and one of the sets (or all of the sets)
were tied, A set of doubles to four (4) games will be played to determine the winner.
VI. Reporting the Score: At the end of each set, record the score on the scoresheet. At the
end of the match, the winning team must return the scoresheet to the IM office.
