Heoh launches The GoodTransaction®,
a unique POS solution for donation
Heoh launches The “GoodTransaction® “, a uniquely innovative POS solution for donation, developed in
partnership with Ingenico Group and Welcome Real Time. The GoodTransaction® enables a customer
to easily donate on the POS terminal while making a payment. Designed in France, this technological
innovation opens donation to an entire population, thanks to its accessibility and ease of use.
A simple and reliable donation solution
How does the GoodTransaction® work for the customer?
While making a payment in store, the customer gets to see on the screen of the payment
terminal an invitation to donate. The customer accepts or refuses this invitation without the
cashier being involved in the customer journey.
When accepting the GoodTransaction®, the customer pays the total amount of his purchases
plus the donation. A receipt providing details of his purchase and of the donated amount is
printed. The customer can then access his personal account on Heoh Web Site to consult his
donations details and print a fiscal receipt.
A new service for payment companies
The GoodTransaction® offers a concrete example of a value added service exploiting payment
technologies. With these value added services, payment companies and merchants strengthen
the relationship with customers. Avéo and Les Comptoirs are the first business partners.
Merchants improve their brand value by adopting the GoodTransaction®
Easy to implement, the GoodTransaction® is directly integrated into the payment terminal and
has no impacts on the cashiers’ desk or in the accounting software. A very light integration may
be needed if the store runs a centralized control system of the payment terminals.
To activate the GoodTransaction®, the merchant just contacts Heoh. The merchants can also
modify the parameters of the GoodTransaction®: donation set up (rounded up or free donation
amount), selection of charities, duration of the donation campaign. The service can be turned
off when the checkout is crowded.
With the GoodTransaction®, making a purchase has a meaning and merchants reinforce their
relationship with their customers. Heoh enables merchants to provide a more meaningful
customer experience and to confirm their social engagement.
Merchants can also add to the generosity of their customers by contributing to their donation.
A new funding source for Charities with a high potential
Donations are fully transferred to the charities selected by the Heoh Comity.
Heoh takes great care in selecting the charities and national causes who benefit from this new
source of funding.
The GoodTransaction® simplifies the act of donating and naturally integrates in the consumers’
everyday life.
With almost 10 billion card payments a year – a number constantly growing – the potential for
donation at the moment of purchase is huge.
A social and economic context making this initiative a must
Charities’ needs are constantly increasing in the current economic situation and finding funding
is becoming a problem. Humanitarian, social, cultural and research charities are experiencing
a critical situation for funding: decreasing public subventions, threat to stop the European
programme “Most deprived persons programme” (MDP), decreasing sponsorship (-30% in
5 years), stagnation of donation from individuals…
However the wish for solidarity is here:
78% of the French population think that companies have a social responsibility to play.
Every month, on average, one French individual out of three buys from a brand showing
dedication to a cause1.
Ipsos Trend Observer says that after the “dreaming years”, today’s society has now entered the
