October 15, 2012– West Windsor Arts Council invites its members to submit work by December 7, 2012 for its juried 2013 Member Exhibition: Rock Paper Scissors. Rock Paper Scissors, a centuries old game, is based on the concept of randomness. The theme for the exhibition is centered on the idea that the process of art making is just as important as or more important than the end result. Work that stretches the idea of what is traditionally considered art is especially encouraged. The exhibit will run January 13 – February 24, 2013 at the West Windsor Art Center Gallery at 952 Alexander Road (historic Princeton Junction Firehouse), West Windsor, NJ 08550. Gallery Hours: Tuesday through Friday, 12:00-­‐ 6:00 pm, Saturday, 10:00 am-­‐4:00 pm. Rock Paper Scissors will be juried by Kelly Baum. Ms. Baum is the Haskell Curator of Contemporary Art at the Princeton University Art Museum. “I hope the theme challenges artists to think beyond what is representational to more conceptual work,” explains Karen Schoenitz, member of the exhibition committee. “The 2013 Member Exhibit is a great opportunity for artists to gain exposure while helping to support the art center,” she continues. Artists who are current members of WWAC are invited to submit work. Artists may join as a West Windsor Arts Council member at the time of submission. The deadline for submissions is December 7.
