CHAIR YOGA FOR SENIORS Continued
 Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga done while sitting on a chair, or standing and using a
chair for balance. It is often offered in senior centers or where students may need help
with balance or when standing is difficult.
 Our classes, led by a trained instructor, will last 30-40 minutes. You may attend any or all
sessions (see additional dates below). You might get the most benefit from regular
attendance, but we will let you decide.
 Future sessions may be organized if there is enough interest – let us know!
Special Mention – Sunday, June 25, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
WARD 4 FAMILY FUN DAY -- Kingsbury Day School, 5000 14th St. NW

WILLS, POWERS OF ATTORNEY, TRUSTS: WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE LAW IN DC
 Micah Salb, Esq., litigates and provides counsel in the field of estate planning, trusts, and
probate. He is familiar to many of us from the Shepherd Park listserv. Mr. Salb is active in
numerous professional organizations and has a deep and longstanding commitment to
pro bono service, routinely providing pro bono or discounted legal services to people with
financial need. This is a wonderful opportunity to educate ourselves about planning for
the future.
Saturday, July 15, 3:00 p.m.
WEEKEND BOOK CLUB

Join ERCV friends for a discussion of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca
Skloot. This is the story of the African-American woman who became an unwitting pioneer
for medical breakthroughs when her cells were used to create the first immortal human
cell line in the early 1950s. The book investigates the social wrong committed by the
medical establishment, as well as the medical advances to which it led.
Friday, July 21, 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
TOUR OF THE HOLOCAUST MUSEUM
 Peter Kramer, ERCV Board member and an experienced guide at the Holocaust Museum,
will offer a tour for ERCV members (non-members can be accommodated only if there is
space).
 Details and registration information will follow, but meanwhile – mark your calendars.
AUGUST
