Call 911 for Emergencies
Call 911 for Ambulance Service major medical. SAG SUPPORT is intended for those with mechanical, or minor medical issues. It is not
intended as a transport for riders who may have overestimated their fitness level. If you need minor medical or mechanical issues and
cannot continue:
Phone service coverage is intermittent in the hill country.
TEXT to 210-493-5878
Text should read:
#____ (Rider Bib & helmet)
_____ Route (14m, 28m, 36m, 48m, 55m, or 65m)
Approximate location:
(Examples: last turn was “left at ___ next turn will be “rt on ___)
______ Miles from start
(If you are using a bike computer)
Other pertinent information:
(If more than 1 person, mechanical needs, or minor medical needs)
IF YOU TEXTED: As soon as you have been picked up by our SAG
(or your friends) you MUST text back ASAP so we can update our
SAG Service Schedule.
Calling is discouraged for that purpose and note that calls that go to
voice mail may not be able to be picked up. PLEASE TEXT. If you do
not receive a return text within 10 minutes, text again putting in
your Rider Bib# and “2nd request for POA” (plan of action)
If, after another 5 minutes you have not received a return text it
could be that you are in an area of limited coverage for your phone
service provider. At that point you should try calling.
If that call does not go through, or you do not have a phone, note
that SAGS will be circling the course so please be patient.
Note: In order to keep our circulating SAGS on schedule, riders
picked up may be advanced to the next rest stop in order to be
transported back by a SAG scheduled to return to Lazy L&L. It is a
large area to cover and there could be a long SAG trip, unless there is
a minor medical that needs attention.
