They are the star of the game. • Mostly short answer, not multiple choice • At least one picture identification question per game, maybe more if appropriate General Rules: • Nothing stolen, illegal, dangerous, or offensive, but any other game materials, objects, and gimmicks are just fine • Make a game board with tokens unless you come up with a different design paradigm. • Game design can be general or, if you can figure something out that pertains to your particular textbook section, go with that. • Instructions (rules, as written) must be simple enough that people can figure out how to play your game in less than five minutes. GRADING: Overall: * Educative power * Clear instructions/playability * Neatness/packaging * Color/visual impact/art * Originality/creativity/deviance * Fun • Grabability/manipulability/ergonomics * Mostly by Barnes’ assessment, but also by student votes Question cards: * Relevance to textbook section • Clear, grammatically correct/correctly-spelled wording • Coverage of most important points in section • Quantity (10 = bare minimum O-Chem/Nukes Textbook Sections vs Tables 25.4 22.1 25.3 23.4 25.2 24.2 25.1 24.5 24.3
