TCYFL Board Meeting

The meeting was called to order: 6:00 PM
Members in Attendance: Tracie Malmin, Mason Skinner, Roslyn Pierce, Sean
Newman, Dan Beckley, Erik Martin, Amelia Carruth, Matt Russell, John
Schletzbaum, Matt Terrell, Andrew Mohl
Members Excused: Doug Vincent, Scott Erickson, Rick Moloney

Reading of Mission Statement: Erik Martin
The Thurston County Youth Football League is a non-profit organization that has the sole
purpose of providing youth football and cheerleading in Thurston County and South
Sound areas for youth between the ages of 7 and 13. We are dedicated to providing the
best coaching, equipment, playing facilities, and competition for all who participate in this
league. Though this is a competitive league, safety and sportsmanship shall never give
way to competition.
Approval of the previous meeting’s minutes:
Mason Skinner moved to approve. Dan Beckley seconded. All in favor.
Jamboree Recap:
Roslyn gave a recap on Jamboree. Concessions and Weigh-ins were discussed.
Equipment Update:
Jersey re-order. Dan wants to make another board member to take over jersey orders.
$55,200 for jerseys so far this year. There was much discussion.
Dan Beckley made a motion that late registration end, excepting teams with low numbers
per the league rules, on the jersey due date. Sean Newman seconded the motion. There
was discussion. Dan, Sean, Tracie, Mason, Matt Roslyn, Erik, Andrew in favor. John,
Matt T. opposed. Motion passes.
Game day Operations:
John updated. Coaches need to be reminded of the field duty rules. It was stated that
Shelton will handle all clock duties at Shelton HS this season.
Fields/Scheduling - SS Stadium
Andrew sent the request in June 25 or 26th. The stadium calendar had the TCYFL every
Saturday through the season from 6:00 to 9:00 but somehow we were removed. We are
now back on the schedule and Andrew will confirm with the School District.
Treasurer’s Report:
Doug is not present at the meeting.
Old Business
Sponsorship Levels – Amelia. Amelia would like to make a motion that the board standardize the donation levels for sponsors per the attached schedule. Matt Terrell seconded
the motion. All in favor.
New Business
John will help get a Got Game Get Game email out to help promote a not-profit basketball
league.
Dan brought up a franchise issue about a fight between two kids on a Bears team. Both players
have been suspended for one week. Dan is going to propose to suspend both kids until the court
proceedings are completed.
Dan wants to make a motion that the league treasurer audit three franchises per year. Andrew
seconded. Tracie made a motion to table the motion. Erik seconded the motion. All in favor except Mason who was opposed.
Tracie wants to reiterate to all cheer and football coaches that no jewelry is allowed during
games. FHC’s need to also let coaches know.
