Write-n-Cite III offline for Windows
Your RefWorks database can be downloaded onto
your computer so you can continue working
without an internet connection.
IMPORTANT: To use the Write-n-Cite offline mode, the allow working offline mode must be
checked during the installation process. This check-box appears on the installation options screen,
about half-way through installation. If you have not checked this box: Write-n-Cite must be
uninstalled, downloaded and re-installed.
1. You must be online to download your RefWorks references to your computer. Open Write-n-Cite and
log-in.
2. Go to Tools and select Create/Update Offline Database.

Click
and Write-n-Cite III will download your current reference database.

Whenever you want to work offline, make sure the “work offline” check-box is ticked.
5.
If you want to revise your RefWorks database online, just follow the above steps to ensure your offline
database is kept up-to-date.
