IEEE Meet and Greet event
On the 2nd of September 2013 the IEEE student's branch in the University of Sharjah hosted
an event called Meet and Greet ,the event took place at 12 pm in al Bayrouni hall.
It had the purpose of introducing the new electrical and computer engineers to their
respected doctors and advisors , many doctors attended such as head of department Dr.
Ibrahim Kamil , Dr. Ali Al-Morsi , Dr. Ismail Shahin , Dr. Basil Soudan and many others .
The doctors gave out speeches regarding the overall university life , about how to get a
good GPA , differences between university life and high school life , the event had a huge
impact on the students since this was the first IEEE event targeting the new comers and
hopefully invoked the love of electrical and computer engineering in their hearts , an
estimated number of about a 50 students came and hopefully it was a good experience for
everyone .
IEEE day 2013
The IEEE organization (institute of electrical and electronics engineers) yearly celebrates its
founding on the 1st of October , the IEEE student's branch in the University Of Sharjah
honored this special day by hosting an event on that day , the event took place at 12:30 and
stayed till about 2pm In Bayrouni hall , lots of students from different students from other
majors attended hoping to engage in the activities and to win prizes , there were
presentations , funny videos and speeches .
To sum up , the IEEE in the University of Sharjah did their best to celebrate the day that
counts as their birthday as well , we all enjoyed our time and we'd like to see other events .
IEEE Photo Contest
On the 1st of October 2013 and on the annual IEEE day the students
of the IEEE student's branch in the University OF Sharjah decided to
participate in the yearly photo contest which involves students in
taking various photos that resemble the IEEE spirit , many
universities from all over the world participated and a total number
of 413 photos were submitted to the IEEE authorities , winner were
chosen on a Facebook like number basis , the IEEE students branch
tried their best, they made preparations to win in the contest
although unfortunately they couldn't ,they were eaten by Ajman
university of sciences , however it was all about the ambition and
work and hopefully they'll come up with better ideas and win next
year.
IEEE Student's Day
On the 7th of November 2013 the IEEE student's branch in University Of Sharjah made an
event which counts as an introduction to the IEEE student's day which took place in M9
Bayrouni Hall, student's from all majors were welcome to come and listen to lecturers as
they explain the terms and fields of this contest , students will be split into teams and are to
work on certain projects with the help and support of their instructors and doctors , the
organizers (the chair precisely ) said that will not be an easy job , but it will be rewarding and
good for their future , after all, engineering is based on teamwork and that's IEEE student's
day's target.
UAE National Day
Every year the UAE celebrates its independence on the 2nd of
December, the IEEE student's branch couldn't do anything but to
respond to its call and they arranged an event to celebrate this special
day .
On the 26th on November 2013 the students of the IEEE organized and
exhibition with various items to show to the students of the university of
Sharjah, objects such as integrated circuits, clothes , robots and a solar
boat were presented in front of the audiences , the students put too
much effort into making this event work , which also was a celebration
of the opening of the new library.
To sum up, the students from the IEEE student branch did their best to
share the joy and spirit of the national day with other people and they
did it in the way they know best (the engineering way) , many thanks
and regards to those who put the effort .
IEEE alumni day
University life teaches u the basics of how the world looks like , how to
deal with people , how to understand them, although it's not enough at
most of the times , the students need advice from other students who
actually finished college and got a taste of how the market looked like.
The IEEE student's branch was aware of this and organized an event
where graduates come and give speeches how their lives turned out
after their graduation.
Doctors such as Dr.Ibrahim Kamil and Dr.Basil Soudan gave speeches
targeting the student's growth within the university. Many different
students came in order to listen to advice from the wise as they say , and
at overall the audience explicitly said that the event was of great use to
them generally , and that they'll start shaping their future from day one ,
which of course was the target of this event.
Ducab Trip
UOS IEEE SB organize a field trip to ducab factory in Dubai , students saw
how the cables are madden (power cables , normal cables .. etc ) and
this is related to many courses in the electrical department such as
Circuit II , Dr.Ahmed Alwakil supervised the trip
