difference in the lives of children through sport,
games, education and healthcare …
1st Female sports team in
the School
Each team member is a role-model to every
child they meet and for the teachers and our
Ugandan team. This positively challenges the
Ugandans on:
 Gender Roles
 Corporal Punishment
 Girls in Education
Testing for HIV
Allowing children to play
& enabling excitement for
sports & team games
The team actively support, encourage and
praise the girl pupils, set up netball teams in
each school with the distribution of donated kit
and also the women in the team are active
members of every program, demonstrating
mutual respect with the male team members
and the male Ugandan team.
Through alternative methods of crowd control
such as songs and catchphrases the team
demonstrate that children can have order
without the need for canes or sticks. Mike Otai,
District Schools Inspector for Kumi, has seen a
significant reduction in the use of corporal
punishment since the arrival of volunteer teams
with Teams4U.
The sports and games enable the children to play,
facilitate the interest and growth of sports in the
school and equip teachers with more ideas for their
