The Perfect Finish
Together as a team, with a perfect finish, the Giants did
what no one thought was possible, and beat the New
England Patriots by the score of 17 – 14.
Proactive and Creative Thinking
- Gatorade 
In 1965, a University of Florida assistant coach (using
creative thinking) sat down with university physicians
(using teamwork) and asked them to determine why so
many of his players were being affected by the heat.

The researchers discovered two key factors: the fluids the
players lost through sweat were not being replaced, and the
large amounts of carbohydrates (energy) were not being
replenished.

The researchers then created a new beverage that would
replace these key components lost by players through
sweating and exercise.
They called it “Gator – aid”
Results of Gatorade

1966 the Florida Gators finished the season 9 – 2,
and won the Orange Bowl for the first time ever.

1969, the Florida Gator’s coach suggested to the
Kansas City Chiefs (NFL) that they use Gatorade.
The Chiefs were so impressed with the “Gator
coach’s aid” that they used it throughout the entire
season… which ended with a win over the heavily
favored Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl 4.

commenting on a incident in 2005 where football players
and assistant coaches broke several NCAA rules:
“I am disappointed that this occurred under my watch. I did
not know these violations were occurring at the time, but as
the head coach I am aware that ultimately I am responsible
for the actions of my staff.”

My staff and I have made a commitment to this University
that we will not compromise with regard to academic
integrity and NCAA rules compliance. We are deeply
committed to both of these goals, and I have implemented
safeguards to ensure that this will not happen again."

As an Assistant Manager within the Supplier Quality Team,
I can lead my group to incorporate the Team Kia Concept
and Hanbang Philosophy at each of my Suppliers.
We will ensure open 2-way communication and a
partnership approach between KMMG and the Suppliers.
We will ensure Quality Systems with all the necessary
Quality Gates are defined and implemented before the
Mass Production phase.
We will ensure each Supplier uses a systematic approach
that integrates continuous improvement and proactive
thinking.
