Akron General Medical Center is a regional referral center for cardiology, oncology, critical care, trauma,
orthopedics and women's health. The Pharmacy Department provides clinical services with pharmacotherapy
specialists in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Diseases,
Psychiatric Medicine, Hematology/Oncology, and Pain Management. The Department provides clerkships for
Doctor of Pharmacy students from a number of schools of pharmacy.

The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy , in collaboration with SinfoniaRx, runs a Medication Management
Program (ITIO-MMP) that provides Medication Therapy Management services designed to optimize health
outcomes for individual patients. This telepharmacy program contracts with Medicare programs, commercial
insurers and consumers directly to focus on improving treatment outcomes through improving medication
adherence, optimizing safety and treatment options, and reducing costs.
