Instructions
1.1
Pre requisites
1. Make sure data connection is available.
2. Make sure your system has java runtime environment( above or equal to JAVA 7).

Application Installation Steps
Steps to Install the Java Software Development Kit
1 Download the latest version of the Java JDK from Sun Microsystems.

2 Double-click on the install file and it should open an installer (Fig. 1).

accept
the
license.
4 On the next screen you will encounter some options. Just leave these alone and click next unless
you know what you are doing. (Because this is being read it is assumed that you do not.)(Fig. 2)
5 The next page you encounter should install (and in some cases download) the Java Development
Kit. (Fig. 3)

6 After the installer is finished, open run by clicking Start > Run... or by typing Windows Key + R.
7 In the text box, type "cmd" and click "OK".

8 A simple window should be opened with a black background and a text prompt. This is called the
"Command Prompt." My command prompt background is red, but it could really be any color. (Fig.
4)
9 After focusing the window, type "javac" and press enter. If the prompt returns something along the
lines of: "'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch
file" then continue with the next step. If it shows many more options and lines, skip to step 15.

10 Open the properties of "My Computer" by either right-clicking the icon on the desktop or rightclicking Start > My Computer. When the pop up menu opens, scroll to the bottom and select
"Properties".
11 This should open a window named "System Properties". Click on the "Advanced" tab.

12 Click "Environment Variables". (Fig. 5)
13 Next, another window opens with a lot of confusing sentences and letters.Double-click on the
"Path" variable on either of the option boxes. It is recommended to edit the variable in the box "User
variables for (your username)".

14 Once the variable is opened, a text box in yet another window appears.Careful not to delete
anything in this box. At the end of the text box, add a semi-colon if there is not one already, and add
"C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0\bin;" to the text box. This is assuming you did not change the file
path of the installation.
15 Click "Apply" and "OK" to all the windows you have just opened. Open the command prompt
again, while following steps 6-9 to see if that "javac" command works.

1. Open drivers folder and install the driver of device which is available, install driver 32 bit
or 64 bit depending on your system configuration.
2. Open folder protoc, copy its location path and set in environmental variables in path
variable. To set environmental variables follow following steps:
Click the Advanced System Settings link in the left column.
In the System Properties window, click on the Advanced tab, then click the
Environment Variables button near the bottom of that tab.
In the Environment Variables window (pictured below), highlight the Path variable
in the "System variables" section and click the Edit button. Add or modify the path
lines with the paths you want the computer to access. Each different directory is
separated
with
a
semicolon
as
shown
below.

Note: You can edit other environment variables by highlighting the variable in the "System
variables" section and clicking Edit then add your path separated by semi-colon . If you
need to create a new environment variable, click New and enter the Variable name and
Variable value.
3. Create folder FingerprintSensors in C drive of your computer, then from
FingerprintSensors folder, copy only those folders whose drivers are installed in the system
and paste into C:\FingerprintSensors folder. (Note: This folder must contain only those
device folders whose drivers are installed on your local systems.)
4. Now copy the driver path from C:\FingerprintSensors folder of all the available drivers
and set path of each folder separately in PATH variable of environmental variables. To set
environmental variables follow above steps.
5. Restart system.
6. Copy zip folder to your system.
7. Unzip the folder and run the batch file and make sure that the run path (path where .zip
file is placed ) should not contain spaces. Also all the components of zip file must be placed
in same path.
8. If your jar is not working after unzipping on first time is showing error ‘Jar not signed’(for
first time ) then:
 Check whether your Java path is set correctly in environment variables (upto bin
folder i.e .../../Java/jdk/bin).
 Run command ‘jarsigner –verify “jar_path/jar_name” ’.
 Check your jar name should be: celc_windows_client.jar.
 Check your .p12 (certificate) file should be in same folder where jar is placed.
 Check your jar path does not contain spaces.

Verification Steps
Starting screen will appear and on Proceed, Registration Window will appear on the screen.

Rollback Steps
Go to User Home Directory ( i.e C:\Users\’your P.C Name’ ) and delete ‘.celc_windows_db’
folder.
1.4.1 Impact on rollback: Database will be deleted and all data (including
un-uploaded packets) will be lost. If application still contains unuploaded packets and you want to reinstall application then delete
‘.celc_windows_db’ folder present in your home directory.
