Michael Jordan has joined a lot of charities over the years of his success
and today. A lot of these charities help the benefits of children and people in
need. There is a long list of charities that Michael Jordan and the Jordan
brand have joined up with such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of America,
UNCF/College Fund, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, the Make-aWish foundation, and a variety of charitable organizations that support
children and families.

It has been said that Jordan and his then-wife Juanita pledged $5 million to
Chicago's Hales Franciscan High School in 2006 and that the Jordan brand
has made donations to other charities such as Habitat for Humanity. On
February 14, 2008, Michael Jordan donated $500,000 to the Slidell Boys
and Girls Club to build a new gymnasium.


Girls Club of Southeast Louisiana's Slidell Unit to help families recover after
Hurricane Katrina hit. “The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of America has been a
visible contributor to the families and children of New Orleans, during and
post Hurricane Katrina,” said Jordan. “Slidell is a community that has been
somewhat overlooked in recovery efforts, and we are proud to aid with its
rebuilding and leave a lasting legacy for the community.”

2. What are Michael Jordan’s achievements?

Michael Jordan has accomplished and achieved many things over the years
with most things relating to basketball when he was at the peak of his fame
in the Chicago Bulls. Some of his achievements as a humanitarian are
helping sick children in need by donated money to them to pay medical bills,
and donated money to families to help repair their homes. Another
achievement as a humanitarian is being connected to charities such as the
Boys and Girls Clubs of America, UNCF/College Fund, Special Olympics,
Habitat for Humanity, the Make-a-Wish foundation, the United Negro
College Fund, and America's Promise.

Some achievements Jordan has made as a retired Professional Basketball
player are having his own sports label ‘Air Jordan’. Being considered
basketball's greatest-ever player. Participating in two Olympic Gold-Medal
teams (1984, 1992). Is the new owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. Finished his
career with 32,292 points, third place in scoring, and a career average 30.12
ppg, the best in NBA history. He also has a statue made for him outside of
the NBA Hall of Fame.

Achievements outside of basketball are that he hosted Saturday Night Live
in 1991. Starred in Space Jam opposite Bugs Bunny and friends.
There is a long list of awards that Michael Jordan has achieved over the
years during his time in basketball such as being a two time NBA Slam
Dunk Contest champion: 1987, 1988. Selected in 1996 as one of the “50
Greatest Players in NBA History”. Selected in 1996 as member of two of the
“Top 10 Teams in NBA History”, and the list goes on. It shows that Michael
Jordan has truly achieved a lot in life.


3. What is Michael Jordan’s life like today?

Today Michael Jordan is a famous but retired basketball player. He was formally
in the NBA playing in teams such as the Chicago Bulls and the Washington
Wizards. Today Michael Jordan doesn’t tend to play basketball much but plays
golf in his free time to be relaxed. On the odd occasion Michael Jordan will play
basketball with his teenage sons Jeff and Marcus Jordan who are looking into
having a future career in professional basketball.

At the moment Jordan is busy with several of his business that he owns. Since
2004, Jordan has owned Michael Jordan Motorsports, a professional closedcourse motorcycle road racing team that competes with two Suzukis in the
premier Superbike class sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association
(AMA). He also owns Michael Jordan restaurants and of course his famous Nike
brand ‘Air Jordan’.

On June 15, 2006, Jordan bought a minority stake in the Charlotte Bobcats,
becoming the team's second-largest shareholder behind majority owner Robert
L. Johnson. As part of the deal, Jordan was named "Managing Member of
Basketball Operations," with full control over the basketball side of the operation.

Michael Jordan remains a wonderful Humanitarian donating money to grant
dreams for kids with the Make-a-Wish foundation and the Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs
of America. Also helping peoples homes and families with Habitat for Humanity.

And still to this day Michael Jordan is still known as one of the greatest
basketball players of all time.
