Dear Parents,
Our academic year is now coming to an end. It’s been a great year
and we still have a lot happening in the school! Upcoming projects:
ICT Lab - Next term we are planning to modernize our Computer
Lab with NEW equipment. Phase one of the ICT Lab is already
underway and we hope to finalize this project in the coming
academic year.
Our Year 6 Students will be graduating soon, but before they leave
us we have planned some activities to help them in their lives as
adults.

Community Service- In the “We Share Because We Care’ Weekthey will be going to distribute and help the less privileged schools
in our area.
Mini Enterprise Competition - In small working groups they are
going to set up stalls to sell items of their choice. They are to pay
rent for the tables (money to go towards the PTA fund) – this
project will teach them the value of advertising, presentation and
financial management. Parents, please come along to support the
students! The stalls will be open from 10:30 -12:00 noon. Winners
will be judged by the students using a secret ballot.

Upcoming Events
We have a lot of exciting events coming up! Just take a look:
Due to bad weather conditions on the 31st of May we had to postpone our
Mastermind Competition. This event will now take place on Wednesday
14th June at 10:30am.
Our theme for Week 9 (Monday 19th - Friday 23rd June) is “We Share
Because We Care” – we ask for your donation of shoes, clothes, toys and
books, which the students in Year 6 will donate to an orphanage in Limbe.
The Graduation Ceremony for the Stars and Year 6 Classes will take place
on Thursday 29th June at 10:30am. The Parents of children in these classes
are invited to attend the event. The Year 6 Play and the Prefect
Inauguration will also take place during this event.
On Friday 30th June, we are having a Mufti Day - the children may come to
school dressed in home clothes for a fee of MWK 500 and participate in fun
games and activities. The Year 6 Mini Enterprise Competition will also take
place on this day. Please let the children bring some pocket money to
school to encourage this activity.
Our last day of term is Tuesday 4th July and it will be a Sports Day, so
remember to come to school in your sports kit! The fun games will start at
10:30am and last until home time at 12:00. Parents are invited to attend
the fun event and wear their house colours to support their houses!

Green Club Recycling at NJA!
NJA is, as you know, a Green School and we pride ourselves on working hard to protect the environment. The
school’s Green Initiatives – Green Horizons and the Green Club – have introduced a new recycling system at
school. We will be recycling paper, plastics and organic waste and try to reuse as much of it as possible. The rest
will be handed over to recycling companies who have proper methods of dealing with such waste. Please
encourage your children to dispose of their waste in a responsible, Green way!

NJA on the Radio!

Saturday 27 May was the Children’s Day of Broadcasting
and six brave children from NJA went to Capital FM Radio
Station to participate and be radio presenters for the day.
They presented the news and sports, played their favourite
songs and discussed how we can keep Malawi Green. Well
done to Almaas from Year 3, Taseefa from Year 4, Ali &
Zahra from Year 5 and Shaun and Aboobaker from Year 6!
