Karate
By Joshua Bey II
The Karate club is a martial arts club, run by
Mrs. Flesh the arts teacher. It is a club that
teaches self-defense, combat, and increasing
your skill level of fighting. Two of the students in
that club are Sailor and Kavon. They showed
me, and told me, some of the moves they get to
learn including the knife hand, back fist, and
assorted kinds of chokeholds. They also learn
defensive stances. They have practice in the art
room Wednesdays all year around. They will do
a performance to show their moves and belts.
Students enjoy being in the Karate club.

Character Court
By the Technology class
Character Court is special at Imagine
School. This is a good thing because it
recognizes the students who always do the right
thing. It helps students work harder with their
respect to others and self-confidence. Ms. P told
us that the character Court has been at our
school for four years. The court was Ms. P’s idea
because she thought it would be a good
Village for our school. Ms. P loves character
court. There are 12 people in the character
Court for each quarter. They choose the court
based on 13 character traits. The Kings and
Queens get mentioned on the announcements
and get pizza parties and prizes. They get their
pictures on the lobby TV. Character court Kings
and Queen are role models for our
students. Amon feels proud that he was chosen
and very honored. His family was also proud
and they took him out to eat to show their pride.

African Drumming the most.
Quiet Hall Award
By Amon
Ms. P and Mrs. Day give the Quiet Hall
Awards this year. A class can earn an award by
walking in the hall quietly and orderly. The class
gets a certificate if they get the award. Then a
class gets 3 awards, they get a free dress down
pass. Every student in the class may choose a
day to dress down. Michael U. was proud to win
the award. Alonna B. enjoyed having the dress
down pass.

that the parade was great. She told me she was

told me that being in the parade was fun. A lot
of people were in the parade. She told me she
joined the parade because she loves people and
crowds. She told me that the parade was
important to her because she loves crowds and
cheerleading. She told me they wore the school

when she had to go home.

BOOK CLUB
By Tong A.
The book club is where you publish your
own book. Rimya told me they make it in on a
website. They each writer writes their own
story. They get the pictures from clipart in the
website or on the Internet. Izanuel likes it
because he gets to make his own book and he
gets to show it to his family and friends. The
person who runs the club is Mrs.. Hall. Kids get
their books published about month after they
write it. The books will be finished in
December. Kids like it because they get to
choose their own story for the book.

Kindergarten Clubs
By Michael J.
Young students have clubs at Imagine. The Lego Club is a
group of kids who meet to have fun together afterschool.
They play with Legos and build things.
Mrs. Connor and Miss Phillips are in
charge of kinder crafts. This club is for
kindergarten students. Kinder craft makes
masks and they draw. They meet at 4 to
5:30. They joined so they can make
things. You have to hold your hand out if you
misbehave, but they are usually good. Kinder
crafts is a fun club.
Coding
By the Technology Class
The technology classes in grades 3,4, and 5
learned the first steps in writing computer codes.
We wrote a program by choosing different
codes. We added motion so our Sprites could
move forward, spin, or turn. We added sounds
like meow. We made our Sprites change color.
We made the program run by choosing an event.
That means the program would begin when we
clicked a flag or presses the space bar. We also
learned how to add a background to our program
to make it look good. Maerakle was excited to
be writing her own codes. Amon realized how
much work went into writing a whole program.
He felt very grown-up being able to do this kind
of work in class.
