CLASS BEHAVIOUR
At the start of the year each class negotiates
with their teacher a class code of co-operation.
If students choose to behave in a way that
disrupts the classroom environment the
following strategies could be used;
 Reminder
 Make up lost time
 Miss out on play
 Write a sorry note
 Buddy class
In buddy class students complete a
restorative plan and have a conference with
the teacher to restore the relationship. If your
child has a number of buddy classes the
teacher will contact you.
For serious behaviour students may
be sent to school planning.
In school planning students are sent to
the office to go through a
restorative conference.
1st school planning

Letter is sent home to parents in
the mail
2nd school planning

Parents and leadership are called in for
a meeting to discuss issues and work
together to negotiate a student action
plan
3rd school planning

Consequences are put into place
that were decided in student action plan

the class or yard behaviour take
home or suspensions can result
YARD BEHAVIOUR
In the yard if we have students who have lost their
MARBLES the following strategies are put into
place to help everyone feel safe;








Walk with the teacher
Verbal warning
Restorative conference
Sit out
Miss out on play
Restricted play
Community service
Take home/suspensions
For serious behaviour that requires students to miss
out on play a yard slip will be filled out by the yard
duty teacher. This slip is mailed home to parents to
ensure parents are aware of their child’s behaviour.
This slip MUST be signed and returned to the class
teacher
