CKI Goals Update March 13, 2009 Without every one of you this wouldn’t be possible! Circle K International district officers and members, As we begin to transition from the 2008-09 officers to the 2009-10 officers we have a momentous opportunity to revise where we stand as an organization in our goals. At the beginning of 2008-09, your International Board set forth a series of organizational goals believed to truly reflect the potential and abilities of the CKI membership. Without a doubt, we stand by our belief that our goals can certainly be accomplished, however your involvement is essential. Your 2008-09 CKI executive committee has put together a list of suggestions and recommendations regarding the fulfillment of the 2008-09 CKI organizational goals for both incoming and outgoing district boards to consider. Like always, the committee and the rest of the International Board are here to serve as your voice and your vehicle of change in our organization. If you have questions, comments, concerns or suggestions regarding our organizational goals or any other matter regarding CKI please do not hesitate to contact us. THE 2008-2009 CKI EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE PRESIDENT KRISTEN REED [email protected] VICE PRESIDENT RICARDO TORRES [email protected] REPRESENTATIVE JJ SADLER [email protected] REPRESENTATIVE ERIC HOTCHKISS [email protected] Help us keep the most accurate numbers for our CKI 2008-09 organizational goals. Here’s how: Membership Work with club presidents and club treasurers to ensure any outstanding dues are submitted. Also, if there are any unresolved issues, contact your International representative so these matters can be resolved. Encourage incoming club officer boards to hold spring recruitment events and/or encourage current non-dues paid members in CKI clubs to take advantage of all the membership benefits by paying their dues. Service hours Encourage both incoming and outgoing club secretaries to submit all of the service hours performed by the members, and then district secretaries or governors can submit revisions to the current tallies. Use spring rallies and officer trainers to explain the importance of accurate service hour tracking and report submissions. Six Cents Initiative Have you turned in donations via mail directly to UNICEF? If so, give us a call or send us an e-mail so we can make sure all donations are being tracked toward our organizational goal. Outgoing club officer boards can hold a “Pie in the face” fundraiser as a last-event to close out their year and raise some more funds for the Six Cents Initiative. Club retention, building and reactivation Have clubs near you that are currently suspended? Then head on over and help them recruit on campus! Work with your lieutenant governors to do one-day recruiting events at all the campuses with CKI clubs in their division. Work with local Kiwanis clubs and school administrations in securing the support network that will allow suspended or potential clubs to achieve retained or active status. Large Scale Service Project and International convention Start saving up, send out letters to your local Kiwanis clubs and don’t forget to see if your school has any money you can apply to fund travel to conferences.
