Creating a “Find Me” rule You can create a rule in voice mail that will allow callers to be re-directed to your alternative phone number, such as a cell phone, without needing to provide the caller with your personal number. For this rule to be activated, you will need to enable the rule within the voice mail settings. When you don’t want calls to be re-directed to your phone, you will need to disable the rule. Instructions 1. Log in to the HuskyNet Email. 2. Click on Options, in the top right hand corner, then click See All Options Your HuskyNet ID 3. In the far left column, click Phone St. Cloud State University Page 1 4. On the Voice Mail tab, locate the Call Answering Rules box. 5. Click on the BLUE link that says “New Rule”. A new pop-up box will appear. 6. Name the rule “Find Me” in the top name box 7. Then add conditions. . 8. It will be added under the heading “If all the following conditions are met”. If you would like to have the caller transferred to your other phone number (i.e. your cell phone) while you are away, click “Find me at the following numbers….” option if you desire. A pop-up will appear. 10. 11. Fill in the pop-up box with the “example” and your second number (cell phone) that the call should be directed towards. 12. Select “Apply” to finish the transfer set-up. 13. Once you have specified the conditions in your rule, you will need to record your “Find Me” greeting. Click on the BLUE link at the bottom of the window that says “Call the Play on Phone number to play or record a greeting for this call answering rule….” 14. The system will call your phone and prompt you to record your message that will play for your “Find Me” rule. Note: Remember to include in your greeting “Press x to find me or Press # to leave me a message”. 15. When done recording, click Save and close on the bottom right hand corner of the page, wait a couple minutes, then turn on your “Find” and test. St. Cloud State University Page 3 16. Finally, be sure to click the check box to enable the calls to be forwarded to your additional number. Calls will not be forwarded if this box is not checked.
