The Groups Pastor will provide leadership for developing community for the members of WRCC and supporting a leadership structure to aid in its growth and longevity. COMPETENCIES: ● Passionate about seeing people connected in community ● High motor, eagerness and grit to achieve goals ● Theologically sharp mind, insightful ● Loves being with people ● Self-starter who is able to work well in a team CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Oversee and implement group strategy for all adults o Recruiting and train group leaders ▪ Empower and mentor high capacity leaders to take their next steps in leadership development as group leaders ▪ Recruit and equip group leaders and hosts, guiding them with our Faith Development Plan. o Develop ‘on-ramps’ for congregation to participate in groups ▪ Serve as the primary champion for community at WRCC, promoting group participation and mentoring through publicity efforts and introductory opportunities. ▪ Work with Faith Development Pastor to create annual Faith Development Campaign ▪ Provide resources and ongoing support for WRCC small groups, crafting intentional opportunities for small groups to serve and grow together. o Implement CCB as a primary method for group leaders to care and communicate to members ▪ Produce regular statistics and determine measurable gauges that help the WRCC leadership team determine the most effective small group and spiritual growth efforts of the church. o Partner with the Connections Pastor in connecting new people to groups and ensuring effective placement. ▪ Collaborate with other WRCC ministry leaders to create consistency within our group communities. o Curriculum Development ▪ Leads a team to create sermon based content for small groups ▪ Oversees Faith Development blog ● Lead Young Adults Initiatives (18-32) o Create a welcoming culture for this age group via groups and organizing outreach initiatives OTHER TASKS: ● Participate in Pastoral Care rotation (hospital visitation/shut-in) ● Participate in WRCC StratOp initiatives ● Continue to grow and learn as a Christ-follower, pastor, and leader JOB QUALIFICATIONS ● Distinctly called into ministry in the local church and is passionate about Jesus and His Kingdom ● Reveres and honors God’s word in ministry and life ● Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree preferred COMMUNICATION: The Groups Pastor will report directly to the Faith Development Pastor and will be responsible and submissive to the Elders of WRCC.
