The Wall That Heals, a traveling, half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., is coming to
Urbandale, Iowa. Team Welcome Home is hosting:
Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Event – featuring The Wall That Heals
September 29th – October 2nd, 2016

So why bring the traveling wall to the area? The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is our nation’s Capitol’s most popular
exhibit, not everyone can travel to Washington, D.C. The traveling replica gives communities the chance to pay respect to
the more than 58,000 men and women that made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam and whose names appear on the Wall.
Hosting The Wall That Heals is also a tremendous way to honor the more than 3 million individuals that served in the
United States military during the Vietnam War. Since its debut in 1996 The Wall That Heals has stopped in over 400
communities and has been visited by more than 2 million people.
Who is Team Welcome Home? We are an unincorporated nonprofit association, comprised of a group of volunteers,
including veterans and non-veterans from various organizations and businesses. Our goal with this project is to honor,
remember and thank our Vietnam Veterans and their families; to help educate others about the Vietnam Era and to inspire
patriotism.
Can you help us by being a donor? In addition to the wall, there will be a mobile education center, other displays,
featured speakers and programs. Thanks to Truckload Carriers Association, the wall hosting fee is covered, but an event
of this size takes additional funding. We are asking for your help to cover costs including equipment rentals, marketing &
materials, event programs, supplies, permits, website, location rental, and more. Gifts of all levels from you and/or your
organization will be greatly appreciated. Please consider helping us, with the additional funding needed, as a Gold,
Silver, or Bronze level donor:
Gold Donor - $5,000+
Silver Donor - $2,500 - $4,999
Bronze Donor - $1,000 - $2,499
Donor – 0 - $999
Donors will be recognized on the association’s website, Facebook page, and event program.
