When we think of a disabled person what do we think of? This
man has one weak leg
Here is a happy man. But do you notice something similar to the beggar? This man is
working in a bank and is happy with a good home. Who decides whether a man who
was disabled becomes a beggar or sucessful?
Parents, the disabled person himself and
YOU! Lets see how?
Cricket game. Good hit! Ball goes on to road. Kannan runs to get
the ball! Will he look before he runs?
What happened?
Why do school friends not talk to him? They feel sad at what’s happened. They feel depressed at
seeing him. Discuss attitudes to disability. E.g. A few people may feel it was god’s curse or fate.
Kannan’s uncle decides to help him. New lunch box, water bottle, school bag. Kannan wants to
get back to school!
But what happened at school? Why? Are there any of
these games Kannan cannot play?
Many types of work. Can Kannan do
these types of work?
After some years… What is Kannan
thinking?
Rewind story
Kannan with friends! Who is Kannan? Are they treating him as
disabled? Does Kannan look depressed or happy?
Kannan grows up confident because of his friends and
studies. Why is he not feeling his disability> He has only
one leg?
Indian Government has many schemes for disabled
people- scholarships Reservation in jobs, bus passes.
Help disabled people reach their best.
