Daily physical
Activity
The people in.MrCranns class and
Mrs. Hendry class are doing D. P. A.
outside. Guess what they are doing?!
There snowshoeing and crosscountry skiing every day! They are
doing a great job and getting some
good exercise! But sometimes they
fall, that’s not the fun part.   

Hockey
The hockey players at B.K. have
been playing hockey outside all
year with Mr. McRann and Paul since
they basketball court is covered in
snow they are now in the gym they
seem to enjoy it but it’s sad that the
other kids can’t watch anymore!

APEX CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
On January 15 Mrs. Negrieff’s and Mrs.
Virgin’s classes went to Apex crosscountry skiing club. They enjoyed it
very much. They searched for animals,
they fell down and got back up it was
cool. They went through magic hoops
and went up hills. It was a big
success!!!!!!! The ski boots were looking
a little funny but that’s what the skis
were attached to!!!

Math Games
This is Bryce and Jake having
fun playing with math cards while
adding, subtraction,
multiplication and division.
BASKETBALL
Every Tuesday and Thursday students practice basketball in
the gymnasium at lunch play time thanks to Mr.Montgomery
and Mr. McRann.
New Students at B.K.
These are B.K.’s newest
students, Katie and
ChaeMin. They are from
Korea and will be staying
with us for 6 weeks.
TECH CLUB
Tech club is looking for a 5th member. We have
Aloria as president, Andreas as vice president,
Hanna as treasurer, Maggie as secretary, and
Carolyn as manager!!!! Come be independent
with the group and have some fun!!   

Bowling At Nelson Savoy Lanes
PINK SHIRT DAY
On Jan. 15th Mr. Mont and Mrs.
Johnson classes went bowling.
After everyone got their shoes on
the light’s got turned off and the
disco ball and music on.
Pink shirt day this year is February 26th.
We encourage everyone to wear a pink
shirt, or anything pink in that case! So
everyone try to wear something pink
please!!!! 

Big Horn Sheep: Our Aboriginal
students took a trip up to the top of
the Salmo-Creston Highway to
observe the Big Horn Sheep. It was
amazing!
Nut Aware lunches
Brent Kennedy Elementary School is a
Skating with Ms.P’s and Mrs.Marken’s nut aware zone! Please make sure your
classes
child has nut free lunches with nothing
Skating with Ms.P’s and Mrs.Marken’s
with nuts in it and no nut products   
classes was a great experience and lots of
fun. We had a blast and enjoyed helping the
kids tying up their skates and skating across
the rink. We found that many students were
very talented at skating and we are sure
they enjoyed it a lot. Most were even better
than us! Skating was a great!

MISSING: We are missing a helmet with a cage and a
BAUER skates. It says “Dylan” on the bottom. Could you
check at home, just in case your child accidentally brought
them home?
Cookies
The cultural study program
students made cookies. The
cookies were called Kalachi
They tasted like bread and flour
and sugar. Thanks to Mrs.
Malakoff for helping us!

your address is outside the BK
catchment area, and additional form
needs to be completed.
