Receptionist (full time)
Scone Palace requires a Receptionist to join our team.
This is a key role; as first point of contact we are seeking an individual who can welcome
customers in a professional and friendly manner and has excellent communication skills.
Arranging visitor bookings is a key part of the role and requires a high level of organisational
ability, IT skills and cash-handling experience.
Our small team has a total commitment to delivering first-rate customer service and experience
in a similar role would be beneficial.
Requirements of the role include:

Taking responsibility for that initial welcome, those all important first impressions

Processing visitor bookings, converting enquiries into sales and up-selling group bookings

Dealing with visitor enquiries both in person and on the phone

The ability to deal with the unexpected

Displaying a sense of pride in presentation and service delivery

Always ready to go the extra mile

Some weekend/evening work may be expected

To provide an efficient reception service, processing tour bookings and responding
to general enquiries. Undertaking administrative support as required.
This is a key role supporting the House Opening function and close liaison with the
in-house team and client base is essential.

Providing excellent customer service at all times
Accurately processing and recording visitor bookings as per procedure
Converting enquires to sales where possible
Working with the HO team to achieve group booking targets
Promptly answering all incoming calls and transferring to the appropriate
person, e-mailing messages in their absence
Checking answer machine daily and passing on messages
Welcoming visitors and directing them to waiting area or meeting room,
informing the appropriate person of their arrival
Assisting Palace visitors with any queries, contacting other members of staff for
assistance if required (e.g. First Aid)
Signing for deliveries, informing recipient and storing parcels tidily
To be responsible for maintaining the reception area in a tidy, presentable
manner welcoming to visitors
Providing general assistance to guides/ticket-hut/shops/catering departments
Providing change as required
Dealing with queries relating to visitor facilities
Providing ad-hoc administrative support for Viscountess Stormont, the Estate
and House Opening teams
Typing correspondence and general admin as required
Complete accident and incident books when required
A willingness to undertake any necessary training
Any other reasonable duties as requested by Viscountess Stormont and the
Management Team
