District Pinewood Derby and Spring Camporee

We have two great upcoming events for your Scouts! Our Cub Scout Pinewood Derby at Via Port is this coming Saturday March 19th and our Boy Scout
Spring Camporee on April 15-17th. Make sure you have these in your calendar, and talk about them at every unit meeting! Please also reach out to all of
your parents so they know about the District Pinewood Derby. We have 6 big trophies to give away to 6 Cub Scout derby car drivers, and 3 sibling
awards. Every racer will walk away with a ribbon and a prize. The race is open to all Cub Scouts in Lake County! We will be located between the movie
theater and the Fun Zone. Check-in starts at 10am, race is at 11am. Come see if you’re the best in the district, see you at the track!
We have two unit leader events just on the horizon that I would like you to mark on your calendars now, because they are to importatant for you to miss!
- JTE GOLD-Leadership Banquet- May 14th (Eustis Methodist Church @ 6pm)
- Lake District Program Launch- May 19th (LDS Church Leesburg @ 7pm)
Both of these events are for your entire unit leadership to enjoy, please make these topics at your next unit committee meeting!

Cub Scout Summer Day Camp & Webelos Day Camp
Spring Tiger Recruitment is Here
This June and July Cub Scouts across the council will participate in Central
Florida Council Day Camps. This year's theme is Cub Scouts in Space.
Activities will align with the new Cub Scout Program to ensure both fun
and advancement! The fee for this year's camp will be $110 for registered
Scouts.

Lake District Family Fest
A one-day event to show off to the public all the great things we do in Scouting! It is designed to be a fun and interactive way to generate interest and

this year at Lake-Sumter State College on Highway 441 in Leesburg. All units should plan to attend and represent Scouting!

Power Squadron Safe Boating Class
College of Commissoner Science
The Power Squadron of Lake Harris is offering any group of 10 Scouts, 12
years of age or older a Safe Boating Class. The course will cover Federal
& State regulations, boating terminology, boat maneuvering, anchoring,
knots, personal watercraft, handling adverse conditions, VHF radio,
trailering, safety equipment, onboard emergencies. The course cost is $50
per person for materials and is a full day. Contact

Ocala National Forest Scout Clean-up Day
March and April Roundtable Training
National Forest Clean-up Day April 23, 2016. Volunteers needed. Packs,
Troops, and Crews are invited to help clean-up the Ocala National Forest
and help promote community service, conservation projects, and fulfill rank

Lake Distrit will be rolling out our 2016 Roundtable break-out schedule for
all program levels. We will be offering the following trainings: Den Leader
Training, Merit Badge Counselor, and Youth Protection Training. Please
