about how this influences how people behave
towards the environment.
English
What learning opportunities will we provide?
The children will be creating their own class rules
and thinking about how they can make the
classroom a safe and happy place to be and show
that they are ‘super learners’.
The children will explore and discuss the different
ways that they learn.

across the 4 seasons.
What learning opportunities will we provide?
The children will be involved in a range of
sensory activities and will explore the different
senses in a variety of ways.
The children will sing songs and label body
outlines in order to learn about their own
bodies.
The children will monitor the weather
throughout the year and observe the changes
from Summer to Autumn during this topic.
Sparkly starter:
The children will be
greeted by some
superheroes with super
senses! They will then take
part in a range of exciting
sensory experiences
involving tasting, smelling,
feeling, seeing and hearing,
including making fresh
bread.
Fab finish:
Our topic will end with a
‘Super Ted’ teddy bear’s
picnic where the children
will get the chance to taste
the bread rolls they have
made and to share them
with their teddies.
What do we want the children to
learn?
To design appealing products for
themselves and others.
To select from a wide range of
materials including ingredients.
What learning opportunities will we
provide?
The children will be designing and
making their own bread rolls and
making capes for their own ‘Super
Ted’.
To learn about the work of a range of
artists.
To develop a wide range of art and
design techniques in using pattern
and textures.
The children will create patterns using
Autumnal leaves in the style of William

Partnership with Parents
Home Learning Opportunities
We will be asking you to send the children into school
with their favourite teddy at the end of our topic and
parents will be invited to join us for our teddy bear’s
picnic as part of our Fab Finish (details to follow).
*Share multi-sensory experiences with your children.
*Involve children in making, tasting and smelling at meal
times.
*Consider what makes a superhero and what superpowers
the children think are most important.
Parent feedback
We really value the feedback of children and parents. Please take a few minutes to fill in this section
with your child and return it to your class teacher 
