Lesson
1. We are going to use vocabulary or key terms to help us. Make sure students
have at least 10 index cards each and a pencil.
2. Now play the envision 5-2 learn presentation start at on the second
forward click. How did they know that they had to subtract? What word helped
them know?
3. Once students tell you the word solve the first problem together. Have
students use the UPSC model by drawing 4qudrants in journal. Model
using ELMO or document camera.
4. Once done repeat the process with the next question. Except this time
have students solve it alone first. Then as a class. Repeat until 34 -16.
5. To get the rest of the key words play the pirate song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9dx2o7m6GI Pay attention; see how
many more words also mean subtraction?
6. Once all questions and words have been stated build the Pocket book
foldable - Dina zike’s p. 12 – and glue to journal.

their own terms.
Is being done though out the lesson using the white boards
