Prior to distribution, raw water is filtered through one of two slow sand filtration units, then chlorinated and stored where chlorine contact time matures. Upon leaving storage, the chlorinated water receives ultraviolet treatment in one of five (sometimes four, depending on demand) UV units. Just prior to entering the distribution system, this treated water receives a second injection of chlorine, so that an average chlorine residual of 0.30 mg/L to 0.40 mg/L is maintained. List all water treatment chemicals used over this reporting period Sodium Hypochlorite by Brenntage (12% - NSF approved) Were any significant expenses incurred to? [X ] Install required equipment [X ] Repair required equipment [X ] Replace required equipment Please provide a brief description and a breakdown of monetary expenses incurred Attached is a list of expenses for the Water Department for 2015 marked Appendix A. Included in the list are the expenses incurred in looping two dead end streets, Church Street and Salter Lane. This project was funded by a grant from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA). In addition, parts of the UV array, the three chlorine metering pumps, the backup power supply, and the computer all required replacing.
