Brontë, Michael Crichton (not Jurassic Park), Charles Frazier, Jamaica Kinkaid or Kurt
Vonnegut (not Welcome to the Monkey House or any short story collection).
2. Choose one of the following titles: Columbine (Dave Cullen), Born on a Blue Day (Daniel
Tammet), Missoula (Jon Krakauer ), The Color of Water (James McBride), The Liars’ Club
(Mary Karr), or Unbroken (Laura Hillenbrand), Strength in What Remains (Tracy Kidder).
IB English Hl 2 (12th grade):
1. Book of student’s choice at the IB reading level (however, you may not read one of the
previous summer reading titles/authors, or a book or author on the IB2 curriculum list—see
letter).
2. All students need to read: The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa (translated
from Japanese by Stephen Snyder)
