Wolverine and Spruce Run - begin and end at our
Northwoods inspired Clubhouse. From spectacular

THE CLUBHOUSE
Golf Academy
Grand Traverse Resort and Spa has one of the most
advanced learning centers in the Midwest. Multiple
indoor-outdoor practice areas combined with the
latest digital video and computer equipment to
analyze your swing. This is a great opportunity to
learn from PGA Professionals who have played
competitive golf, and know how to win!
Director of Instruction and PGA
Professional Mark Hill, along with
a staff of PGA instructors will
guide you through the overall
learning experience. The Academy is open year-round, and
offers private instruction as well
as public clinics, on-course playing lesson instruction, corporate
clinics, team builds, ladies-only
clinics, junior clinics and certified
Titleist and Callaway club fitters.
Whether you’re just beginning to golf, want to
sharpen your fundamentals or build confidence,
our Golf Academy will create a custom practice

THE BEAR - Designed by golf great Jack Nicklaus, The
Bear is our best-known golf course and described as
one of the toughest in America. You’ll quickly appreciate this beautiful par 72, links-style course featuring
Scottish terraced fairways, tiered greens, deep grassy
roughs, moguls, mounds, and deep pot bunkers. Lakes,
ponds, hardwood forests, streams, and fruit orchards
are home to a variety of wildlife that give The Bear its
character: golf in the midst of wild nature.

THE BEAR
THE WOLVERINE - Gary Player’s signature course weaves
through water and wetlands on the front nine, and
highland terrain with views of Grand Traverse Bay on
the back nine. Flexibility, versatility, and playability are
built into this unique course, which offers four sets of
tees on each hole.

the numerous fir and spruce trees that line its fairways
and undulating greens. A challenging, entertaining
course, it winds through rolling hills, and overlooks
East Grand Traverse Bay.
