The game will follow the ultimate players association rules with some minor KPU
changes
Games consist of 2 halves of 20 minutes running time each with a 5 minute halftime
Overtime period consists of one 5-minute running time. After the overtime, if the score is
still tied, the contest is recorded as a tie.
Each play begins with each team lining up on their respective end zone line and the
defence throws (pulls) the disc to the offence.
The disc may be advanced in any direction by completing a pass to a teammate.
Players may not run with the disc.
The “thrower” has 10 seconds to throw the disc – a defender counts out the stall.
When a pass is not completed (i.e. out of bounds, dropped or intercepted), the defence
immediately takes possession of the disc and becomes the offence.
No physical contact may take place between players.
Picks/screens are not permitted.
A foul occurs when contact is made. If a foul is made and both teams agree on the foul
then the disk is turned over to the team in which the foul occurred against. If the
offensive team contests the foul then the disk goes back to the player who threw the
original pass.
Players are responsible for calling their own fouls and line calls.
Scoring
Each time the offence completes a pass in the defence’s end zone, the offence scores one point.
Play is resumed with each team lining up on their respective end zone line and the defence
throws (pulls) the disc to the offence.
Spirit of the Game
Ultimate stresses sportsmanship and fair play. Competitive play is encouraged, but never at the
expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules, and the basic joy of play.
