RYERSON RAMS GAME DAY STAFF JOB DESCRIPTION NOTE: THIS POSITION IS ALSO REQUIRED TO WORK AT ALL RYERSON MEN’S AND WOMEN’S BASKETBALL, HOCKEY, SOCCER AND VOLLEYBALL. WHAT: Ryerson Rams Events Operation Staff would be trained and responsible in various job positions to work basketball, hockey, soccer and volleyball game operations hosted by Ryerson Athletics from September 2011 to March 2012. Staff would be responsible to work Ontario University Athletics (OUA) conference and playoff games, exhibition games and 3day tournaments. The employee usually works minimum 15 hours a week, primarily during the weekend and some weekdays. Positions include: Basketball: Shot Clock, Game Clock, Score sheet, Side Panels, Statistician and Film Hockey (off campus): Game Clock, Score sheet, Statistician and Film Soccer (off campus): Game Clock, Score sheet and Field Operations Volleyball: Game Clock, Score sheet and Statistician All Sports: Ticketing Assistant, Concessions Assistant, Game Host WHO: Must be approved for 2011-2012 Ontario Work Study Program Must be able to work in a fast paced environment Knowledge of basketball, hockey, soccer and volleyball is a key asset Must be able to work in a team environment Must be able to work weekends, some weekdays and December break Must be punctual, organized and have the ability to multi-task Must attend mandatory training sessions JOB DESCRIPTION 1- Work in teams to set up and tear down game day venues. 2- Monthly schedules would be provided in advance for staff and require confirmation within 48 hours. Staff are required to work at least three (3) weekends per month at various Ryerson Rams games. There will be no events during Fall 2011 and Winter 2012 examination period. 3- Event Operations staff can also work games that overlap (e.g. Soccer from 11 am to 4 pm and Basketball from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm) 4- Game Day dress code is khaki pants. Ryerson Athletics will provide shirts. Jeans, shorts, caps/hats and open toe shoes are not permitted. 5- Attend paid training and development sessions 6- Arrive at event venue before scheduled work time to give enough time to put your personal belongings away and prepare work station 7- Perform pre-game tasks (i.e. set up work station) 8- Work closely with co-workers in game operations and reporting game stats and information as per Canadian Interuniversity Sports (CIS) regulations 9- Complete post-game tasks including station cleanup 10- Perform other duties as assigned To apply, please e-mail a cover letter and resume to: Shauna Bookal, Athletics Event Coordinator Ryerson Athletics and Recreation [email protected]
