Hundreds of Staffies and other dogs are
abandoned over the holiday period. Many
are being put to sleep right now, due to lack
of space in kennels.
Please consider rehoming one or even
fostering one... and keep them safe.
On the first day of Christmas my owner left me
Tied in the park by a tree.
On the second day of Christmas a stranger found me
Tied to the tree and took me to the vet to see
If a microchip there be.
On the third day of Christmas the warden came for me
And took me to a pound where I will be.
On the fourth day of Christmas I thought my owners would come for me
But only the kennel staff played with me.
On the fifth day of Christmas no turkey or toys were under the tree
Instead only a cold kennel floor was waiting for me.
On the sixth day of Christmas I was still in my kennel waiting to see
But still nobody came for me.
On the seventh day of Christmas the vet came with an injection for me
I guess there’s no space for dogs like me.
On the eighth day of Christmas I’m looking down from doggie heaven
Hoping other Staffies don’t end up like me.
