The story takes place in
Harlem Manhattan,
NY. In about the1980’s
to the 90’s
Carver is Slam’s old
school and where his
friends Ice and Mtisha go
to school. Carver also
verses Latimore in the
championship game.
Latimer is where Slam currently goes to school
and plays basketball he also helps the team win
games and the championship game. Latimer is
also a magnet school.
Slam goes to Mtisha’s house because
she tries to help him in math.
Slam’s house is in a really bad neighborhood. It
takes a lot of courage to not do things like
drugs when people around you are doing it.
Slam goes to the Hospital to see his sick
grandmother who has a tumor. Slam states in
the novel that he prefers to not go into hospital.
Ice’s House is where the party at the end of the
book is. At Ice’s house is also were Slam seees
that Ice is dealing drugs and is very upset
about it so Ice and Slam started a fight and hurt
their relationship.
