SAVE THE DATE! ABORIGINAL PLAY AND LEARNING FORUM OUR KIDS, OUR WAY, LET’S LEARN TOGETHER NGALANG KOORLANGKA NGALANG MARI BALANG KADADJINY KOODJAL BARANG FRIDAY 6TH MAY 2016 9AM TO 3:30PM Just a friendly reminder that the Aboriginal Play and Learning Forum is coming Registrations will open on the 31ST March What’s being covered at the forum? The 2016 forum reflects on how we can work in ways that value parents and carers as a child’s first teacher. It looks at the importance of families and their communities in raising healthy confident children and how we need to work and learn together to get children ready for school. The day will also share the journeys of people who have graduated from Tertiary studies, who currently attend school and who are getting children ready for school. The forum is a chance to think about the way we work with families and the role we have as we work alongside them. Who should come? Parents; playgroup leaders and coordinators; childcare workers; and people working with Aboriginal families with young children (aged birth to five). Priority will be given to Aboriginal staff working in early childhood settings. Where is it? Wollaston Conference Centre – Wollaston Road, Mt Claremont (Perth). Who’s organising it? This forum is an interagency initiative supported by Playgroup WA (Inc), the Department of Local Government and Communities, State Library of WA and Indigenous Parenting Factor.
